BFF and you're such a good friend
But I knew it couldn't last 'til summer's end
You signed my yearbook and that was pretty rad
And now I'm getting sick of you and it's just too bad

I heard you talked a lot of shit about me
To your new best friend

Doesn't matter anyway
'Cause I've found a brand new friend, okay
Me and her, we'll kick your ass
We'll wait with knives after class

But you know I gotta say
I really loved going to your slumber party
It's too bad you got so lame
You told my secrets and it caused me a lot of pain

I heard you talked a lot of shit about me
To your new best friend

Doesn't matter anyway
'Cause I've found a brand new friend, okay
Me and her, we'll kick your ass
We'll wait with knives after class

Now give me back all the clothes you borrowed
Don't give me bullshit, bring 'em to school tomorrow
I can't believe I told you all about my secret crush
I wish I could take it back now that you broke my trust

It was great how you made me a friendship bracelet
But I didn't know you made one for Becky's face lift
You now know everyone hates me a whole bunch
Just because I made you cry a little bit at lunch

But I don't feel bad
'Cause they don't know what we had

Doesn't matter anyway
'Cause I've found a brand new friend, okay
Me and her, we'll kick your ass
We'll wait with knives after class

We don't like Becky anymore
We don't like Becky anymore
We don't like Becky anymore
We don't like Becky anymore

Now I'm going to juvy for teenage homicide
It'll would've been cool if you stayed by my side
Then you'd know that you wouldn't have had to die
And now every single night I cry

If only what you wrote in my yearbook was true
Then I wouldn't be stuck in fucking cell block 2
But I don't regret what I've done
'Cause in the end it was fun

Doesn't matter anyway
'Cause I've found a brand new friend, okay
Me and her, we'll kick your ass
We'll wait with knives after class

Doesn't matter anyway
'Cause I've found a brand new friend, okay
Me and her, we'll kick your ass
We'll wait with knives after class

THis is one of the best songs on the album.

beyond just being about a girl murdering her ex-best friend, i think it shows how pointless school violence is. which seems to be very popular in america

The lyrics posted are wrong at one point too..

"Now I'm going to juvey for teenage homicide It'll would've been cool if you stayed by my side then you BECKY wouldn't have had to die, but now every single night I cry"

I thought it was then YOU wouldn't have had to die, but I've been listening to this song on repeat for a week straight and have been trying to get every lyric perfect... the song is in fact about killing Becky, her old best friend's new friend. Which is so much better, I think.

it's pretty obvious a girl has a best friend who stabs her in the back. the both get new best friends. the girl kills her ex best friend.

I hear "I'll FIND a brand new friend" not I've got. And it sucks that the Americans didn't get this on their version as it's one of the best songs on the album in fact the 3 songs left off are my favourite songs on it. Universal realise Marylin Manson, eminem, 50 cent and Nine Inch Nails but this is too violent? What cocks!

zombiesrafterme, they did not sell out, jemina said in an interview that universal just took the songs off without asking them - they could not do anyting about it. universal is being really blatantly sexist, like the above poster said eminem? marilyn manson? their lyrics are fine but if a girl is singing something that isn't even half as bad suddenly it's "too violent"?

anyway, this is a really great song. one of my favorites off the new album.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
