I think this song may be referring to a guy who no longer cares for his girlfriend. It seems like he thinks she's very disposable when the lyrics say, "It won't be hard to find another one like you." When I first heard this song, I thought he said "bunny's gone" instead of money. I like to pretend it says bunny sometimes for my own personal entertainment :]

The music for this is so simple, but the way they do it is unique. I love Luke's voice!

I love this band! The singer has an obnoxious way of singing and I love it.

I think it's about the ups and downs in relationship. A couple shares happy moments like dinners and birthdays, but will they make it through financial hardships?

I believe this song is about a relationship either growing old and getting boring for one of the people, or where one person has straight out from the beginning never been that interested in the other. He/she goes through the motions of buying birthday presents and cooking up dinner, but when they see their couple they don't really feel anything for them. The joy comes basically from having someone 'under their thumb' and that person's love is wasted on them because they're so easily replaceable.

I'm totally in agreement that it's about a stale relationship, but parts of it definitely sound like he's talking about a joint. The comparison is probably intentional, but it was the first thing I thought when I heard the first verse,

I, I got you in my pocket For when I get home Keep you in my pocket For when I get home I keep you in my pocket For when I get home When I get home, when I get home.

Come on, you can't help but think he's talking about keeping a joint in his pocket. It's like every day of high school.

This song could very easily be about a relationship, as has been said, but another possible meaning I see could be about marijuana. "I got you in my pocket for when I get home" is a sentiment I've shared many a time. The quote "it's better to be in a time of weed and no money, than money and no weed" seems related to the next verse, while "I don't give a damn about when I see you" relates to the fact that weed, while enjoyable, is not particularly habit forming so he's fine to not smoke it, but also enjoys smoking it whenever he decides to.

I don't really get the meaning, but the writer was definitely feeling in control of things.
