Just dropping in to let y'all know that everyone is entitled to their opinion on what the song means to you, but if you'd like the actual story, I will tell you the tale of how "Jodi" came to be. Her real name is, believe it or not, Jody. He just changed it to "protect her identity". Good job on the guy. Anyway, Meric and Logan came to our town for a little while, and she ended up dating him for the time he was there. Then, in May (as the song goes), he up and left her. This is not a song about a man trying to get over a woman who broke his heart, or a "controlling" woman. He's actually dumping her through the song. That's how she found out it was over. No "cooling off period", no "dust settling". Just a lousy way to break up with a really sweet girl.
Such a good band. This song has so many different emotions packed into it, simply brilliance!
or him not being able to live with her
drunk affair, man takes more than he gives and gets tired of her whether he wants to or not.
It's definitely 'here on my own' Krzsiek
this song to me means that he has to move on, even if that means not talking for a period of time, but don't disappear while he's gone because he is so exhausted with the amount of energy he's put into the relationship. He is assuring everything will be alright after the dust settles, even though both parties may not be over it.
This song was such a pleasant surprise to find at the end of the album.
not exactly sure what this songs about. great song. definitely has something to do with him not being able to get over a girl im thinkin
or him not being able to live with her
what i hear is:
But you're still telling me What I want, what I need 'til I can't even be
- hero of my own *
but maybe i'm wrong :)
btw, that's a very good song! i prefer Winter and Undeclared to it but still Jodi rocks ;)
