Spider Besider Lyrics
To blossom and to change
Mystical (Mystical)
Ancient, and forgotten ways
I'm not as sweet as I've lead you
Iachoku, Iachoku
With spiders beside her
Of ancient cherry blossoms
And I ask you to take me there
A wish for all
I ask you to take me there
And I wish for all
I'm not as sweet as I've lead you
Iachoku, Iachoku
With spiders beside her
(Spiders beside her)
And sea monsters
Are in the tide
And there's a spider besider
I'm not as sweet as I've lead you
Iachoku, Iachoku
With spiders beside her
(Sunrise is slowly calling you)
Iachoku
(Eight arms and legs to hold onto)
Iachoku
(Her ways combining)
With spiders beside her
(Old and new)
A spider beside her

well, I posted the lyrics :) and I found what I thought to be a pretty logical explanation for the song.
I was looking up Secret and Whisper on Wikipedia. I know it's not always the most reliable source, but I can't really see why anyone would lie...I'm posting this just because I think it sounds pretty logical & I agree.
The band told a fan that "Spider Besider" was written about an old Chinese woman by the name of Iachoku that Charles met at an old job. The song is about how ridiculous it is that people have to change so much just to fit in. Iachoku had to change her name to Susan when she moved to North America. The chorus line is "Iachoku, I'm not a sweet as I've led you" which means that even though it seems nice in America "its not always what it's made to be".

When he does that growl near the middle of the song, ah I love it

BEST SONG
I heard this song was about a sweet-tasting Japanese flower called Iachoku though it is sweet to the taste, it is highly poisonous. Iachoku means dark spider in Japanese because the flower looks like a dark purple spider. This song speaks of a mans daughter and how she ate Iachoku. And now he is wishing for the past so he can be with his daughter once more.

thats funny, i always thought the chorus was something like, "the ocean view, the ocean view" i guess i was wrong. Great song. I read the same thing on wikipedia, and thats about the only thing ive heard about the meaning.

Well its not really the lead vocalist but it sounds awesome

I heard Ia cho ku meant "[something] ancient place" from a friend. In Vietnamese.

I heard that this song is about him meeting a Japanese girl and her name was Iachoku. She was telling him about how the U.S wasnt everything that she expected it too be.

What do spiders have to do with it then?
