I Once Was Lost, But Now Am Profound Lyrics

I'd be lying here if I said that
Everything was fine but
Sometimes lying is really
The truth in disguise

I've come to find
(come to find)
My heart is in line with my soul
Two different loves with a similar glow

I'm two steps away
From my subtle smooth escape
And opportunity's knocking at my door
I'm growing sick today
I regret all my mistakes
And opportunity's knocking at my door

I'm a giant, you're a crook
And we're all just suckers
For a line with a hook
And there's nothing in this ghost town
But a cry to the souls that we've found

I'm two steps away
From my subtle smooth escape
And opportunity's knocking at my door
I'm growing sick today
I regret all my mistakes
And opportunity's knocking at my door

I'm two steps away
From my subtle smooth escape
And opportunity's knocking at my door
I'm growing sick today
I regret all my mistakes
And opportunity's knocking at my door

What a mess I've become
I lost track of who I was
It's not just me
It's my whole generation
Generation, generation

I've come to find
My heart is in line
I've come to find
My heart is in line
with my soul
with my soul
with my soul
with my soul

I'm two steps away
From my subtle smooth escape
And opportunity's knocking at my door
I'm growing sick today
I regret all my mistakes
And opportunity's knocking at my door

And opportunity's knocking at my door
And opportunity's knocking at my door

****This is just a guess, I'm pretty sure about most of it, but there are some parts I'm not so sure about. I'd like some input on what you think it is :)

I found this song about this time last year and I was at the crossroads of my faith. I didn't know where I wanted to go, but I knew I needed to change. I love the first verse of this song because I lied to so many people by saying I was fine but inside I was dying. My heart wasn't right with my soul, I had 2 different loves with a similar glow. Since then, I've been sober since October, and I'm a leader at my church. "What a mess I've become, it's not just me, It's my whole generation, generation, generation!"

I swear in the song it sounds like like he's saying

I'm two steps away From my subtle smooth escape And this opportunity's knocking at my door I'm growing sick today I look good on mistakes And this opportunity's knocking at my door

but maybe I'm hearing it wrong its a kick ass song anyway
