Wow, Just wow, I really like this song. At first I didnt think it was anything special but after listening to the lyrics and hearing it properly I got into it alot. I think this song is about a lonely recluse who is hanging onto life, I get this impression from the lines..
"I feel like shit But at least I feel something."
Meaning he's feeling like shit as obvious but atleast he feels something and not nothing (being dead) and by hanging on having a better future, kinda links to me but I this is what I think the song is about.

Anders revealed the meaning behind "Disconnected" in Kerrang magazine:
"When I'm in a tour bus, people can't see me but I can see them, and I see so many sad faces. People go from A to B without trying to break out of that routine, and sometimes I see people like that I want to know what they're thinking. I need to feel alive and sometimes it seems like other people dont feel that way."
Oh and also if you look at the song that way, and you look at the rest of the lyrics it all sounds quite right.
After reading my thoughts on the song a few days later, I think I might of been slightly wrong, I think it could also have a link to mental disabilities or problems. Laters!

Lyrics have meaning as always but the guitar and drumming has gone wayyy downhill, sad.

Before, I thought it was just kind of random emoish lyrics but just knowing that makes the song brilliant.
He's observing the world, and he feels disconnected from it because while his life isn't great, compared to the people he observed, it's not that bad. He's taking notice of the misery that other people go through.

This is probably the most pathetic song In Flames have ever recorded. "I feel like $hit but at least I feel something?" I think Anders has a lawsuit coming his way for plagiarizing some 12-year-old's Myspace status.
