I think it ends with "How long will I sit and wait like a soldier How many summers will I wait"

This seems to be about sacrifices people make or are expected to make in life. Whether it's for a family member, a friend, a lover, a corporation or one's country, the sacrifice does not seem to be reciprocated or appreciated.

Right wrat : "How many... I wait" is even repeated 2 times at the end of the song, and I can't hear the "boulder" part written above. I would say that the last words are :

How long will I sit and wait like a soldier? How many summers will it take? How many summers will I wait? How many summers will I wait?

But there may be different versions for the song... About the meaning , IMO, it's about sacrifice you make for a lover ("in my heart you fill every corner"), for which you get nothing in return, neither the grateful nor even the love you could expect. Could last, but not long : "Next time I'll try it another way". Clear now ?

I love this song. I would interpret it as being a song about two friends. The girl does everything for the guy and secretly loves him, but he doesn't seem to realize it.

• Here she's asking herself (or other people are asking) why she always helps the guy out. Why she's always there to listen to his problems, even though they're not in a relationship.

• This could be about the guy trying to introduce her to other guys (referred to here as soldiers). She's not interested in other guys though and she thinks he should know that he's the one in her heart.

• She's asking herself how long she still has to wait and how much hurt and disappointment she still has to go through.

• People are telling her she has to get over him and find someone else, but she doesn't want that. She'll never give up on them being together.

I think it fits well with the entire song, but that's just my view on it of course...

The ttts in the first verse is actually "why would I at-ta-ta-ta-tempt such a load?"
