Lolita Lyrics
Lolita, I gotta see ya
I got a fire when she pulls me in
Those young girls love automatic
I want to make you lose your brain
For all I know
Come on over and she’s pulling at my shirt
Like she’s telling me to stay
Well, take a look over here
C’mon, I got the bullets in my head
And she asks me why I came
Shakin’ off the dusty cape
Lacin’ it up again
‘Cause she used to love it
So I bury my shame
She was nineteen and we all rearrange
We could do it all and it’d all go faster
Things could multiply at appalling rates
Then we’d lose our heads
And we’d still go faster
Even on our birthdays
Every night I pray
She comes around my house to stay
And every night I pray
She comes around my house to stay
The hunger has not receded
Those little moments when it wraps my head
The feeblest offers are taken at all costs
But oh, my heart, it wouldn't budge
Shakin’ off the dusty cape
Loosen it up again
‘Cause she used to love it
So I bury my shame
She was nineteen and we all rearrange
Alright, we could do it all and it’d all go faster
Things could multiply at appalling rates
Then we’d lose our heads
And we’d still go faster
Even on our birthdays
Every night I pray
She comes around my house to stay
And every night I pray
She comes around my house to stay
I got a fire when she pulls me in
Those young girls love automatic
I want to make you lose your brain
For all I know
Come on over and she’s pulling at my shirt

I love this song.
So I guess the singer has this girl that keeps coming on to him but she's way too young. I think he turns her down but he starts thinking about her and hopes she'll show up at his house.
I don't really get the whole cape part though.
this song is great. i have a feeling its going to get popular real quick. throw me the statue has potential to be a great band.
Agreed with was Pardonme said.
i read the book lolita by vladimir nabokov
in many ways, the song connects to connect it to the book, the cape part is about how lolita (a 12 year-old girl) was "in love" with a movie star. Humbert Humbert felt the need to change himself for her, thus putting on the cape.
as well, may i add HH was a middle-aged man and Lolita's stepfather. he became obsessed with her despite the fact that she was under-age.
I love this song and the band in general
This song is extremely addictive, I love ittt. :D
And I agree with Shambe & alex.
Anybody who references Nabokov is good in my book :)
Lolita is a general term coined by the book and the later, more popular film. There are, of course, going to be connections in any instance of a "lolita," but it's not necessarily a direct reference to that story. I think he's speaking more from personal experience, where a young girl, likely underage (hence the "she was nineteen"/"rearrange" line), is clearly interested in him but he must maintain a platonic relationship due to societal norms although, underneath it all, he really does feel a strong sexual attraction to her. BTW, does the girl in the video not look exactly like a younger Denise Richards??
first off, the movie Lolita is an adaptation from the book. there are two movies, one from the 60s and the other from the late 90s (i believe 1997)
lolita is a term used to describe an underage girl who appeals to grown men
since TMTS has made references in other songs, for example to Huey Lewis, i do believe them capable of connecting to book that has turned into a pop culture phenomenon
i actually came upon this song when i had to do a project and find a song that connected to the book i read, which coincidentally was Lolita. which may also explain why i made connections from the book to the song
correction: connecting to A book
thats it =]
