I Am the Sub-Librarian Lyrics
I am the sub-librarian, come in on the council bus - Chalk Farm to Highgate Woods, sportsbag of borrowed books
A steady diet of Brautigan, 'Tapestry' on the walkman
Paranormal ill-health from dusting off the top shelf
I am the sub-librarian, counter girl, tea-maker
I am the sub-librarian, swan feeder, spectacle breaker
I am the sub-librarian
A steady diet of Brautigan, 'Tapestry' on the walkman
Paranormal ill-health from dusting off the top shelf
I am the sub-librarian, counter girl, tea-maker
I am the sub-librarian, swan feeder, spectacle breaker
I am the sub-librarian

Friggin' great song! This girl has a wonderful voice, just the way she sings "a steady diet of Brautigan"- it's heavenly. This song seems to be about someone who's pushed down and cannot see happiness in life. However, there are so many references to places that it makes it a bit confusing to find the meaning. One of their catchiest songs upon first listen! :)
