"Well just to see her eyes" sounds like "Well just to see her arrive" to me.

It's about a girl of his dreams. Sort of like when you have a great dream and you want to fall back into it, but you can't, so you just try to think up the rest. That's what he's doing when he looks out the window, he's trying to remember.
