Painted Contortionist Lyrics

You turn your back of empty sockets coward
your highest title cradle the lie feigning your own death sympathy comes but not pouring as it had does it?
Even with this staged tragedy and never from me
never again I want to make it real you're coming to know that I look at you now little more than a castrated actor
yet still the eyes make threats not from spite but from habit
which has long since become your nature
but you know your only power over me is that you could push me to kill you
so come with your games and screams of superiority
your perfect victim routine hasn't worked on me in years silver
tongued Judas I am your highest enemy possessed of angelic vengeance
you've got one foot in the grave choking on your arrogance
now suffer the blows of my aggression worth all of her tears
turn around I'll rip your throat out
die a coward.

what a song....its obviously about someone who he had a relationship with. it went bad and he wants to kill them (or just hates them)

"i'll rip your throat out" says a lot

seriously, Jayson Holmes is a lyrical genius. The Handshake Murders are an amazing band. What i think he's trying to say in this song is that someone betrayed him, like a coward, and now they have to face the concequences of their actions- having huge Jayson rip their throat out. which i don't know, i think it'd be pretty hot. LAWL.

Wow I saw these guys live last summer and wow..when they played this song....it was pretty amazing. I think this song is about betrayal it's pretty obvious that it is looking at the lyrics and just how powerfully that song was performed.

HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!! this song gives me the chills every time i listen to it.

i agree with the betrayal part and i also think that this person did something to someone close to him because he says "now suffer the blows of my aggression worth all of her tears", he wants to rip the dudes throat out that hurt "her" :P

I worked for a while with a venue that frequently welcomed The Handshake Murders. Always a crazy, jam-packed show. They're a sound man's worst nightmare. ;)

Incidentally, a buddy of mine actually talked to Jayson while he was lifting weights (which he takes on the road with him everywhere he goes) and found out what this song means.

Apparently, a girl he cared about (girlfriend or sister, i forget) had a guy (cousin? ex boyfriend? bah, don't remember) who was being a real dick to her (hence the line "now suffer the blows of my aggression worth all of her tears"). Jayson heard about this and the chick was really upset about whatever this guy was saying or doing. He went to the guys house and basically said...well..."I'll rip your throat out." Then rather than actually do it, he went home and wrote this song.

I think the meaning of it made me like it a LOT more. He's the freakin man.
