OMG, when i first heard this song on American Idol, i fell in love with it immediately. I'm not a Sparks fan, but i just could relate to this song. It reminds me of what I'm going through right now. Love this song so much. Very comforting.

I heard this song while searching more Jordin Sparks songs. To me, this song relates a lot to my own personal experiences of not meeting the right guy yet. Or even getting close to it. I relate to this song, and she sings so beautifully.
i think its also about opportunities, and getting rejected from things. with the lines 'You know you can if you get the chance In your face, and the door keeps slammin' and you just gotta keep up and give it another try.

In my opinion, this song is about waiting for the right time for love to come, and not rushing yourself into a relationship just for the heck of it. "It's going to happen when it's supposed to happen." Leave it to fate.

"like learning to fly or falling in love" why would she say that about falling in love? thats stupid. everyone assumes these songs are always about love and boys, but there are more important things, like dreams and goals FYI.
to me its about working sooo hard for your dreams and you feel like you'll never get there. you want it so bad but it feels impossible, but that it all comes one step at a time and it will happen if you keep trying.

this is a grrrreat song i love it! i think the meaning of it is quiet obvious... this is about someone struggling with their dreams..singing for example..how you go through the ups and downs of trying to make it through the business and it will all come when the time is right you just need to be patient. but i also think it can be about a relationship..a person looking for the right one and that it will come when it's meant to come.
i love this song so much! the foot steps in the background really sets up a catchy beat! i love that she's singing about trying to become successful in the music business,
