AMAZING. It's just about this doubt. This trust issue. You just are left wondering when you're not with the person. You just sit and imagine the worst. And you feel so isolated. God. I feel like I can relate to every song they write. I love Tegan and Sara like I have never, ever, ever, ever loved a band before. It astounds me, how intensely I feel for this band. I REALLY want to see them.
Maybe my mind is in the gutter, but it sounds to me like she's talking about masurbating when she feels emotionally disconnected from her lover. Just read it!
At first I thought that, but now I think it's about being completely lovesick and losing yourself in that feeling. When she says "when I cry I do it all alone and on the floor" I think the "do it" refers to the crying. The ohhhhs sound like crying moans to me. I felt this way before and listened to "Unchained Melody" over and over - it was pretty sad actually.
i think its purposely about both... i think its showing two extremes... ecstasy & agony that love can bring
This song to me is about trying to confess that you like someone but it's hard to do but that's just my interpretation.
at first i thought about the lyrics literally, but now i'm wondering if tegan is refering to the mind of the person and where their thoughts are instead of their body physically. the whole "when i find myself outside your house, i'm trying hard to figure where you went" could be interpreted metaphorically as finding herself outside someone's thoughts. and the "where do you go when you're not here with me" could be her asking where their thoughts are if they're not with her. or maybe that's just me
