You are the girl that I've been dreaming of
Ever since I was a little girl
You are the girl that I've been dreaming of
Ever since I was a little (ever) girl (since)

One, I'm biting my tongue
Two, he's kissin' on you
Three, oh, why can't you see?
One, two, three, four

The word's on the streets and it's on the news
I'm not gonna teach him how to dance with you
He's got two left feet and he bites my moves
I'm not gonna teach him how to dance, dance, dance, dance
The second I do, I know we're gonna be through
I'm not gonna teach him how to dance with you
He don't suspect a thing, I wish he'd get a clue
I'm not gonna teach him how to dance, dance, dance, dance

You are the girl that I've been dreaming of
Ever since I was a little girl
You are the girl that I've been dreaming of
Ever since I was a little girl (ever since)

One, I'm biting my tongue
Two, he's kissin' on you
Three, oh, why can't you see?
One, two, three, four

The word's on the streets and it's on the news
I'm not gonna teach him how to dance with you
He's got two left feet and he bites my moves
I'm not gonna teach him how to dance, dance, dance, dance
The second I do, I know we're gonna be through
I'm not gonna teach him how to dance with you
He don't suspect a thing, I wish he'd get a clue
I'm not gonna teach him how to dance, dance, dance, dance (uh-oh)

Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh

One, you're biting my tongue
Two, I'm kissin' on you
Three, is he better than me?
One, two, three, four

The word's on the streets and it's on the news
I'm not gonna teach him how to dance with you
He's got two left feet and he bites my moves
I'm not gonna teach him how to dance, dance, dance, dance (oh)

Do-do-do-do-do-do-do, do-do-do-do-do-do-do, do-do-do-do-do-do-do
I'm not gonna teach him how to dance, dance, dance, dance
Do-do-do-do-do-do-do, do-do-do-do-do-do-do, do-do-do-do-do-do-do
I'm not gonna teach him how to dance, dance, dance, dance
Do-do-do-do-do-do-do, do-do-do-do-do-do-do, do-do-do-do-do-do-do
I'm not gonna teach him how to dance, dance, dance, dance
Do-do-do-do-do-do-do, do-do-do-do-do-do-do, do-do-do-do-do-do-do
I'm not gonna teach him how to dance, dance, dance, dance
Dance, dance, dance, dance, dance

This song is cute. It's about unrequited love. Apparently a friend the narrator has been in love with his/her whole life. It's about the narrator seeing the person with their boyfriend and getting jealous. Not sure if there is a lesbian thing going on, or whoever wrote the song just wanting to distract, or make the lyric a little more interesting, but still that's not the main point, so people shouldn't get too caught up in it.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
