This song is probably about a relationship that you have no control over and seem to be "stuck" in where eventhough you can leave, you keep coming back. The person you are in love with is controlling and you keep telling yourself and that person that you could leave and look for someone else, yet you don't....and it becomes a vicious cycle. It's interesting how the band compares such a relationship to drinking or alcoholism...eventhough it isn't good for you...you keep coming back to it.

Then when it says "not that there's any other fish in the sea (id rather have on my plater than you)" is the male reassuring the girl that she is the only one for him. Then nearing the end of the song when it says "fuck that I changed my fucking mind jesus loves you so I don't have to" simply implys that he dosent love her any more.then the line "I hope you sleep softly with this pillow pressed against your face" means that he still wants the best for her. Or that's my idea of what this song means think I nailed it maybe except for the end.
