Me and my friend have been thinking about this song lately, and we have come to the theory that it is a second part to point/counterpoint. They have various, lyrical connections. We believe that it is about a guy and a girl in a relation-ship, who have a mutual friend. In point/counterpoint this friend commits suicide. In recieving end of it all, it is all about the after math of the suicide, and how it is destroying the lives of this couple.

To me this song says "F you, you fing bitch, you broke my f***ing heart". I love it.
I feel this song is about both a failing relationship that was interupted with another guy and a girlfriend who didnt love her first lover.
It focuses on the girl not caring as much for the guy as he did to her. which is why he feels more pain than her. "You dont know what its like to be on the receiving end of it all" throughout the relationship he felt more than her.
this is my current favorite song and it probably will be for a long time but yet i have no clue what it means
this song seems to me to be about how no matter what happens it could always be worse... that shit happening is the way of life, and everyone always has some sad tale to tell, because life shits on everyone.

I think these parts of the song refer to regret- how there's always someone you want to be around for, if they need someone, but sometimes you can't be... and how relationships decay,. I guess...

I think this song is about leaving someone in a crappy relationship. You want to help them and do the best that you can but sometimes it's just impossible to salvage anything anymore.

In this part I think it's like a conversation: She says "It hurts too much" as in life is too painful and thus she wants to end it. But he responds "It will never hurt enough" as in in life there is nothing soo emotinally scarring that you should take your life, that there is never a reason for suicide. Then she trys to say that she will simply cover it up and no one will ever "Call her bluff" as in see under the mask that she is making, pretending she is happy all of the time.

This part just kind of came to me because I've been in this sort of relationship before. This is another kind of conversation part: He says that they use to be in love but when they broke up, they broke all of their promises to each other and he feels bad for that. Then he challenges her saying that she has never felt real pain and sorrow, saying again that she shouldn't be thinking of killing herself. So yeah, some parts are fuzzy but I think thats what it's about really.

i agree with lordlemming on this one, it seems this song is about dealing with your emotions after a relationship that breaks your heart. and i also think that it is an anti-suicide song, in certain ways, almost in the vein of "heres to life", and "a better place a better time". idk for sure though this song seems to touch on a lot of the issues of a tough break up, or just a relationship in general, and in ways it seems to move forward chronologically in order from the first bad emotions, to the over the top rebound feelings a few weeks or months after the relationship ends. anyway thats my view hope it helps.
I agree with Magus that this song is generally about how things could always be worse. I.E. You could be in a failing relationship, but then there's someone else who who's worse off because he just got all his shit stolen (that motherfucker he took everything we have). And then you can't expect help from anyone, because everyone has their own problems that they think are the worst in the world.
