Q&A
We Will Fall Together Lyrics
I once knew a guy,
obsessed with the afterlife,
-Oh what a terrible day that was,
He realized he'd wasted all his time!
-Time was ticking by,
and he'd been left behind
-And as the clock tick-tocked his heart did stop,
and everything he had was fucked!
And we know not what we do (Can you hear them call?)
Will we ever make it through?
As they watch us fall (from the sky! to the ground! to the sea!)
Woe is me, woe is me, no one will save you now
We can only look away (away!)
We'll not be victims there'll be no victims of to speak
And only then will we be free
And up will rise the meek...
- And when we fall, we will fall together
No one will catch us so we'll catch ourselves!
- And where we roam, we will roam forever
No one will understand what we meant
The beaten and the bruised, forsaken, the abused
Oh what a glorious day we'll have rising up and claiming all our dues
The day will come as sure as the ever-setting sun
All of those that self-imposed will find themselves so indisposed
And we know not what we do (Can you hear their call?)
Will we ever make it through?
As they watch us fall (from the sky! to the ground! to the sea!)
Woe is me, woe is me, no one will save you now
We can only look away (away!)
We will not be victims there'll be no victims of to speak!
And only then will we be free
And up will rise the meek
- And when we fall, we will fall together
No one will catch us so we'll catch ourselves!
- And where we roam, we will roam forever
No one will understand what we meant
Now, with the line drawn in the wet sand,
You need to tell us where to stand
(Sitting waiting watching rotting)
Everything they warned us of is true
Now tell me what we're all supposed to do
They're coming after all of us with everything they've got
With the fury of a soldier who will answer to his God
So how will we fight?
All we have is logic and love on our side...
- And when we fall, we will fall together
No one will catch us (so we'll catch ourselves)
- And where we roam, we will roam forever
No one will understand what we meant

First off, to -cide, lyrics are a big part of the song, if there was no need for them, they wouldn't be there. To all of you who aren't sure if Thomas is religious or not, listen to Mephisto's Cafe. He doesn't buy the garbage that goes into religion but he does think that we live for a reason. Listen to the lyrics guys, you will get it.
look i think the point of this song, isnt whether or not you should be religious, but simply that you cant spend your whole life worrying about the afterlife. if you spend all your time devoted to a religion with no room for sway then are you really going to be happy? on the flip side if you are an atheist and spend your time brooding about the meaningless-ness of life, then you wont be happy either. its more of an indication of his personal standpoint, and way of going about finding what makes him happy, without brooding, or moping about the possibilities of death.
And we know not what we do (Can you hear their call?) Will we ever make it through? As they watch us fall (from the sky! to the ground! to the sea!) Woe is me, woe is me, no one will save you now

I think he is making an example of the wrong way to see it. As for "therell be no victims", and "only then will we be free", i think he means that since we all die, there is no true victim, its a reality and once we accept and learn to live with that reality then we can finally be free to enjoy our lives, whether our acceptance be through religion, or otherwise. i think its a much deeper statement that most of you are claiming.
Great song! Great album.
Streetlight Manifesto is definitely sending the message throughout the whole album that they are not religious and think it's just as important to respect what people don't believe as much as what people do believe. And even though I happen to be really religious, I can dig the message.
I'm gonna have to go with "stop treating your life like a god damned (pun intended) waiting room". It also extends into the fact that you can live morally, happily and well with out religion, despite the constant pestering from nutjobs.
A-fucking-men kimopo. Do people really need the threat of going to a place of eternal suffering and punishment to be kind and loving to others? I know not everyone who believes in a god or an afterlife believe this, but when people tell me that "most people who die dont go to heaven because they haven't accepted Christ as their personal savior. And thats a FACT." i get a little upset. I can believe that a god described as just and loving would damn someone who has lived a good life and has been kind to others, but failed to recognize Jesus as their messiah. Hoo...enough preaching. sorry. I truly love this song, this album, and this band. I agree that the theme of this album is life, death, and uncertainty of what (if anything) comes after. I dont think its something someone can come to a conclusion about without alot of soul searching and deliberation. I think people who write off religion without giving it any thought, are as sheep-like as those who take everything their told about God as fact. And in the end, there's really no possible way to know for sure. Your life is your own, as are you decisions and your beliefs. I'm sorry if you have read this far.
All I'm going to say is this: Religion shouldn't affect the music you listen to. I'm sure if there is a God up there, listening to a song that has an anti religion hidden message because you like how it sounds shouldn't be a problem. And if that IS a problem, why the fuck are you worshipping something that prevents you choosing the music you listen to?
Best song on the new album.
Weird video though...
