I Hope I Become A Ghost Lyrics

I hope I become a ghost.
I hope I can see the end of time.
I hope I become a ghost.
And make sure the future turns out fine

I hope I become a ghost.
Oh, when the world is said and done
The stars will become so close
And there will be nowhere that I can't run

Ooooh
Ahhhh, oh

I hope I become a ghost
And watch all my grandkids growing old
Some will remember me
And others through the stories they've been told

I don't intend to frighten you
Just want to see if what I think comes true
And then and only then we'll know
If it was worth to become a ghost

Ooooh
Ahhhh, oh

There's nothing sad about it
There's nothing sad about it

Now that I've become a ghost
I don't get to laugh with friends like you
It would not have been so bad,
If people like you would have become ghosts too

There's nothing sad about it.
There's nothing sad about it.

Ooooh
Ooooh
Ooooh
Ooooh

There's nothing sad about it.
There's nothing sad about it.
There's nothing sad about it.
There's nothing sad about it.

Not much to think about, the song is clearly about being sad and depressed. I think it's a great song that i found from the movie "Worlds Greatest Dad" with Robin Williams. My favorite part of the song is the "Oooh Aaah Oh" part. "Now that I've become a ghost I don't get to laugh with friends like you. would not have been so bad, If people like you would have become ghosts too" It's never good to be sad and depressed, i thought a lot about suicide at one point due to big problems in my past, its not bad to listen to sad music if it makes you feel better, but anyone reading this, if your hurting, please don't do anything to hurt yourself, it will get better. i promise.

Memory

I'm sorry, but i really don't see it as a sad song at all. Everyone is going to die at one point and all he is saying is that when he dies he hopes he gets to hang around rather than just move on. He's saying he's interested to see where the world goes after he's dead - a natural curiousity i think. When he says now i've become a ghost - he's realising that it may have been a bit hasty and that it would be better if he had people to share this experience with (again, a natural human experience i think) Beyond the superficiality of it, i (personally) see someone who just wants to see beyond his life, wants to know what will happen to him and his memory, to his family and to the entire world. I think it's a song that taps into everybody's natural curiousity about what comes after.
