Blackbird

I agree with Hardhittin, easily their best song. Lyrically it is genius, musically brilliant, and you can tell this song really means something to them.

Didn´t know it was about the death of a friend makes a lot of sense! At first it struck me as being about someone who had lost his way and is not living a fulfilling life like he/she had intended in a first place and that you know what is going on but unfortunately you are in a position where you cant do anything for them but hope that the wind will carry that blackbird home so that he/she may never be broken again...

Best song they've put out, hands down

After buying Alter Bridge's CD "Blackbird" I would have to say that this is my faveorite song. The entire CD is well put together but this one song stands out the most. Maybe because its in memory of someone or maybe because its just so emotional.

I think that this song is about losing a close family member or a dear friend. (like Phantom Death said). I can totally relate with this song, just the meaning and the way they make the words emotional. Its one of the best songs by Alter Bridge. I hope that they keep on the great work.

Forget Creed.

I was one of the Creed's old fans. And I disappointed when I heard ther first album.

But After I listened this song accidently, I'm just keep on listening their album including their debuit album.

I like it.

This song is great. I listen to it all the time and it never seems to get old. Very emotional. I just have a correction with the lyrics. It's supposed to be "Ascend may you find no resistance" instead of "They're sending you from your resistance."

Absolutely the best song from a great band. They put a great deal of emotion into the song and I agree the lyrics are genius. Plus add in one of the greatest guitar solos I've ever heard it makes this song an instant classic.

its pretty sad that this song, which is a great song, one of the best ive ever heard, has 1 page of comments and my chemical romance "black parade" has 19 pages. i say this because both songs are about death.... MCR is an "emo" band... you know, emotional.... but yet this song has 10x the emotion, its expressed by ACTUAL singing.... great lyrics, and the music expresses it as well. Gerard from MCR said the black parade is the most epic thing hes ever heard, clocking in at 5 minutes long. this song is 8 minutes long, has like 3 guitar solos, and is just simply epic. i bring this up with the comparison because its just sad how shitty bands get so much attention these days because of their image, if alter bridge wear eye liner and wined instead of singing and didnt play guitar solos theyd be millionairs.....

anywho.... this song is about death, the death of a close friends. it is really great. anyone whos lost a close relative or friend could relate.
