The Divine Conspiracy Lyrics
Quaestio nostra est aeterna
Ultima requies fons vitae
Sed eam ut novam ducemus
We will never know all possibilities to predict what is to come
And so we have illusions to think freely
Once we had been
Rich from within
Did not try to reach
What we couldn't achieve
Because once we had been
Able to win
From the need to succeed
We need to be innocent to live the life we've lived for so long
We need to be blind enough to live the life we live right now
Who possesses your time also possesses your mind
Once we had been
Rich from within
Did not try to reach
What we couldn't achieve
Because once we had been
Able to win
From the need to succeed
We need to be innocent to live the life we've lived for so long
We need to be deaf enough to live the life we live right now
Reach out, touch infinity
Life is just a memory
Time is not the entity
Like it used to be
The Divine Conspiracy
Opens up the reality
Time is not the entity
Like it claims to be
Once we had been
Rich from within
Did not try to reach
What we couldn't achieve
Because once we had been
Able to win
From the need to succeed
We need to be innocent to live the life we've lived for so long
We need to be insensitive to live the life and so ignore it all
Who possesses your time also possesses your mind
Who possesses your time
-Mislead us all, we are not in control
Also possesses your mind
-There is no trace that will lead to this place
Reach out, touch infinity
Life is just a memory
Time is not the entity
Like it used to be
The Divine Conspiracy
Opens up the reality
Time is not the entity
Like it claims to be
Desperately we all
Clutch at the last straw
We stumble and fall
Countdown to die
To heal it all
We will never reach
Our capacities, no more
We cannot expand
Our boundaries
Once we had been
Rich from within
Did not try to reach
What we couldn't achieve
Because once we had been
Able to win
From the need to succeed
We need to be innocent to live the life we've lived for so long
We need to be insensitive to breathe so we can take it all for granted
Reach out, touch infinity
Life is just a memory
Time is not the entity

I think the latin is: "Our question is eternal Punishment desires divine knowledge But in order that we consider it new" There's some similar text in "indigo" that should relate to this. I guess this song means that because we try to overstep limits and succeed, we are controlled by these goals. It isn't time that makes waste, it's what has our time. Eventually we have to see that we can't achieve everything, and that life is a dream that we'll wake up from when we die and reach infinity. We do things because we think time will run out (living as if it's your last day) but time is not what exists. Maybe it's the divine. This song is pretty complex, I have to admit. The first latin line reminds me of sensorium and how answers make questions until you're in a tangle.
Only one comment on this song!? =O It's no wonder this song is the title of this album. It's truly one of the best on the album.

are lines that stick out in my head. Man I can't get enough of this song. the instrumental parts that make up majority of this song are perfection.
This song is obviously like most of the album about how us ourselves are going to be our own demise.Because we push ourselves too far and it takes over and take 'time' for granted and run out before we normally should.
Once we were "stronger" because we knew our limits. Now we overextend ourselves, living beyond our means, and it will catch up to us. Ignorance keeps us from realizing this.
The meaning, to me, apprears so be something along the proceeding lines... We try too hard to reach knowledge and goals beyond our human comprehension, we restrain ourselves by time, the ticking clock as life runs out; but 'life' as we know it is merely the beginning of something else. A (for want of a better word here) 'illusion' perhaps by the divine, and beyond it is an infinite time, existence, a higher plane of conscience.
Funny, maybe it's just my mindset, but this scream Eden metaphors to me.

Very much invokes the image of innocent paradise
It means pretty much all religions are the same at heart, with the same aspiration to goodness (except for Satanism), and are only different in accordance with different laws, beliefs, customs, gods, etc. The song explains that the danger of organized religion is that it tends to put too much emphasis on those traditions and not enough on the morals and those who follow that perspective may become torn by greed, corruption, and may discriminate other religions because of difference in tradition, leading to holy wars, prejudices, and conversions that really aren't necessary because, again, they all aspire to goodness. This is the divine conspiracy Epica speaks of.
