I loves this song it's so poetic and just gives me a good feeling even though it's kinda sad, I think. I'm a little stumped about the meaning though, I'm guessin it's about a guy tellin his girl to say goodbye to the good ol days of their relationship because they're gone. But I might be wrong? If I am, can someone please enlighten me? :)

its about something bad happening and you just need to bear through it and that yeah bad things happen and when they do they end things and cause things that should have happened not to (there's just too many words we're never meant to learn) and also its always going to be hard and things aren't going to be the same again.. The first time i heard this song was a month after my friend was killed in a car accident and was having a real hard time dealing with it and honestly hearing it made me laugh

Personally i love this song. Well, i feel this is not a sad song. Its message is quite encouraging. As bballfrk11 said the song is telling us to hold on through the hard times and yeah one day all the hard times will be gone. Well, i feel the song reflects quite a wide contrast from the normal jobs to our love. But it begins from a point of view of a person who is going through real hard times. "Lose my breath in waves knowing that every crash is bleeding the hourglass and taking the stride from our lives"-- is clearly saying that the days are going real bad, and every second of his life (every breath) is just not going in his direction, times are going hard (bleeding the hourglass). And "Everyone keeps talking they promise you everything they don't meant anything" -- is saying how we are betrayed in our lives, how people lie to us for their advantages. "We may lose our focus there's just too many words we're never meant to learn "-- is saying that, we might fall down in our life but thats not a big deal, (Thers just too many words, we're never meant to learn) the important thing is we have to get up. And the chorus is saying, hard times will go someday and we'll get relief. The next verse is stating love life. "Move your hands in circles keeping me hypnotized the power behind your eyes."---- the person is begging his love to keep him hypnotized in her love, he is saying not to let him go away. He wants to stay with his love and hopes his other aspects of life (work etc) doesn't affect his love. "Move around your bedroom cursing the naked sky you should be here tonight but you stay alone and cry..." But unfortunately, his love is far away from him and wishes she was with him. "There's something missing you never feel it but you you're gonna feel it when it's gone when it's gone" the bridge is clearly a message to us. Don't let your love go far from you, don't let the hectic life lose your love. Keep it safe in your arms. You might not be desperate to hold her when your love is with you, but u'll regret a lot when she is gone. Well...there you go thats my prediction about the meaning of the song!

I feel like this song is exactly what I am going through, and I cry everytime I hear it. My family has been going through a lot of problems, and I realize that there is a lot of tension and even if things do get better I am afraid to say we won't have that close relationship we always had. I never realized what I had until I lost it, and that means so much more to me than ever. I never really understood that one day everyone feels like that. Everyone is saying this song is about death, but I think it could be interpreted about being about 'losing' someone in a completely different way. I don't know, but that's how I look at it.
