Be careful little eyes what you see
It's the second glance that ties your hands
As darkness pulls the strings
Be careful little feet where you go
For it's the little feet behind you that are sure to follow

It's a slow fade when you give yourself away
It's a slow fade when black and white are turned to gray
And thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
It's a slow fade, it's a slow fade

Be careful little ears what you hear
When flattering leads to compromises, the end is always near
Be careful little lips what you say
For empty words and promises leave broken hearts astray

It's a slow fade when you give yourself away
It's a slow fade when black and white are turned to gray
And thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
It's a slow fade, it's a slow fade

The journey from your mind to your hands
Is shorter than you're thinking
Be careful if you think you stand
You just might be sinking

It's a slow fade when you give yourself away
It's a slow fade when black and white are turned to gray
And thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away

People never crumble in a day
Daddies never crumble in a day
Families never crumble in a day

Oh, be careful little eyes what you see
Oh, be careful little eyes what you see
For the Father up above is looking down in love
Oh, be careful little eyes what you see

I'm the first to comment?!? Granted, the song is pretty obvious, but still! This song captures our everyday battle to make the right choices and to live like Jesus. And this song is soooo true! It /is/ a slow fade...

"Be careful little feet where you go For it's the little feet behind you that are sure to follow"

I think it could be emplied to the filpino saying, "Any bad things that elders do, become right to the eyes of the children"

    little feet=children

When we live in sin, we don't always see the bad changes occur right away.

We slip into the world slowly - and it is a slow fade. A person who is drinking, or committing adultry, or starting to do drugs, doesn't lose everything in the blink of an eye (right away). Slowly, things will pass away from them. This is why we need to be careful, to remember that the choices we make can and many times, WILL, have lasting (often lifetime) effects/consequences.

Little children, and those around us, watch, and often suffer, from these bad choices that we make.

This song is best summarized by James 1:13-15, "Let no one say when he is tempted, 'I am being tempted by God,' for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death."

The song is about how the believer has to depends in Christ on everything and is a reminder for those who has suffered by the wrong choices that has lead us to terrible endings is more dedicated to christians and is a beautiful exhortation for us...

The sins we make by our wrong choices they turn us gray... Leave it all to Jesus for His will is Perfect!

    Song Meaning

I think this songs meaning is talking about us humans that sin. I think that it says that every time we sin we give ourself away more and more. But when we sin it truly is a "slow fade"....i mean just think your not just like the perfect christian one night and then wake up one morning and decide that your gonna go out and do drugs and have sex....u know what i mean right? But I thinkwhat I have to say to anyone that reads this is just to try to stay pure....really wouldn't you want to go to heaven and have God say "Wow! you are and awsome example of a christian! you really rocked at this and avoided the worlds sins!" or would you have him say "Well you accepted me so I guess your free to come to heaven but you did this wrong and this and that...ect..."? And keep this question in mind "What if you were the only example of a christian someone ever saw?"

Can someone please tell me what the lyrics "When flattery leads to compromise, the end is always near" means? Thanks

This song always reminds me that nothing in this world lasts forever. For example, life slowly fades. We slowly fade, every day, we "think we stand, but just might be sinking" due to the fact that we all trust in false hopes and think we're safe, but we're all going to die anyways.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
