carrying the same melody as ten ton brick, this song is an after thought...he misses her, he feels alone. Edelweiss by the way is a rare flower with white leaves indigenous to the Alps.

ecopro is right, the edelweiss reference is showing that she is his one and only (so to say) she was the one for him and he has lost her and can only dream of the times they had together

oh my GOSH, this song just strikes me but in some different way. those first 2 stanzas i can relate to SO well and that 3rd stanza means to ME, maybe not J, but i'm in love with this girl i havent met, we just randomly met online and miraculously we fell in love and we're a PERFECT match but we have this issue that we live...a few states apart. and i'm a suicidal and depressed person and she's the only one that can help me and does help me with that. and its hard on me that she's not here. i dont know...i cant really explain.

But this song is BEAUTIFUL.
Especially, yes, the cresendo towards the end, the references to Edelweiss. J. Loren just has a way of writing that pulls out so many emotions.
