Here Lyrics
There's a place I've been lookin'for
That took me in and out of buildings
Behind windows, walls and doors
And I thought I found it
Couple times, even settled down
And I'd hand around just long enough
To find my way back out
I know now the place that I was trying to
reach
Was you, right here in front of me
CHORUS
And I would'nt change a thing
I'd walk right back through the rain
Back to every broken heart
On the day that it was breakin'
And I'd retrieve all the years
And be thankful for the tears
I've cried with every stumbled step
That led to you and got me here, right here
It's amazing what I let my heart go through
To get me where it got me
In this moment here with you
And it passed me by
God knows how many times
I was so caught up in holding
What I never thought I'd find
I know now, there's a million roads
I had to take
To get me in your arms that way
Repeat Chorus
In a love I never thought I'd get to get to
-here
And if that's the road
God made me take to be with you
Repeat Chorus
And I'd retrieve all the years
And be thankful for all the tears
I've cried with every stumbled step
That led to you and got me here, right here
Oh, baby-Ooo
Oh, got me here
That took me in and out of buildings
Behind windows, walls and doors
And I thought I found it
Couple times, even settled down
And I'd hand around just long enough
To find my way back out
I know now the place that I was trying to

this song is about how much he loves this girl and he's so thankful that he ended up with her, he would go back through all the pain of his life for her. the chorus is a million bucks =) one of the few rascal flatts songs i like
i love this song, i think it is one of my favorites off of their new cd, i just bought it off itunes the day it came out. its about how he is with the one he loves and realizing everything he had gone thru to be with her was so worth it. amazing. but the chorus, it sounds like they are saying "relive" not "retrieve" i could be wrong though.
Rascal flatts is really amazing and i love this song.I think its about how you keep trying to find that perfect someone and you suddenly figure out that someone is right in front or you.

so maybe we're not at "that" moment (yet), and as much as i hope to one day, on your time - bumbi it's definitely a song that points directly in your sorta general definite direction... :o)
a great song that shares "that feeling" of being past the storm, past the fresh wounds that cut deeper than one would ever think - but how much more worth the final prize is than the rains, the tears, the breaks, etc...
I'm completely lovin this song!
It's all about how he got to where he is in his life, and how while it might not have always been good times, he wouln't change a thing.
I love this song. It's probably my faorite on the new cd. I think he's basically saying the same thing as on 'bless the broken road' but he's saying that he's thankful that jis heart was broken and he wouldn't have it any different.
ok this has to be one of my favorite love songs ever :] this song describes my boyfriend and i perfectly cause beofre we got together we went through alot of drama and stuff but now that we are together i wouldnt go back and change anything not the crying or ANYTHING as long as we ended up where we are now they are basically sayin the same thing in bless the broken road like k mac said but this song is deffinatly one of the best on their new cd i love you david hunter jones more then you could ever imagine♥
I love this song. :)
I've been in 2 long term relationship (total of 6 years), and just got out of the most recent one a year ago. It was a big surprise and it hurt like hell, it took me the entire year to get over it. At the same time my best guy friend recently got a divorce. We never looked at each other any different until one day a couple months ago it just clicked. When I hear this song I think of us. We aren't a couple yet, but I hope one day when we are... we can dance to this song at our wedding.
The lyrical meaning is very similar to "God Bless The Broken Road"
My boyfriend dedicated this song to me, and now I love it.
I agree that the meaning is a lot like Bless the Broken Road. When you find that person that you fall in love with and want forever, you realize that everything was worth it - all the pain, all the anger. And usually, the person you want is right in front of you. My boyfriend and I weren't friends for a long time before we got together, but it was one of those things where when I look back, he was just randomly in my life. Whether it was through friends or through he and I talking very briefly, he was right there and I never realized when I first REALLY talked to him that I'd fall for him. It took both of us becoming broken hearted to realize how much we cared for each other, and we were the ones comforting each other through those broken hearts when we started to realize we had feelings for each other. In the end, we found out our hearts weren't broken at all - that compared to the love we have, those that we've liked in the past are nothing.
And I'd do it all over again, a dozen times, as long as it meant having him in the end.
isnt it relive the years, not retrieve the years??
this song was on myspace for ages and i love it. :]
