One of my favourite songs of all times. at a concert (one of his last) whitley told us this big story about how this song came to him on top of a mountain in NZ and an eagle screeched at the start and this song just came out... and then as he started playing guitar he said, actually i wrote it in my shitty apartment in brunswick.:P
I heard this song for the first time today and fell in love. I feel like the emotion in his voice conveys a hope that the love he shares with this person will last. However, there's almost a small doubt that it couldn't work out... and that's why i think he closes with, "this could last forever" to emphasize that there was truly something there and it shouldn't be overlooked. Beautiful..
