C'mon, guys, John pretty much admitted he was a virgin that one time on stage and he's far too classy to write a song about lust without having some deep meaning to it ;)

I think this is about a guy who isn't sure if he is infatuated with or really in love with a girl. It seems the versus keep going back and forth where he will say she isn't the first he has felt lust for, but then he contradicts himself by saying:
"Oh there's a lot more to it than this I'm not just tryin' to get in your bed"
That's just how I understood it.

I almost get this image that a guy is at a bar and sees this girl , shes all over him, and its obvious whats going on. Shes probably drunk and then towards the middle of the song hes like "oh shit shes stupid/ out of it" but its just a one night stand, nothing special. Its like he doesnt want to do it, but his lust has complete control of him and he feels almost sorry for her.
