I've been in this town for too damn long
Use all my energy making bagels instead of songs
Wake up at seven a.m. for shit pay
And something inside is telling me
It's not okay
And my heart feels like it's been torn apart
By a love who thought I was full of shit from the start
Of the chapter of history we wrote
But I drowned in drunken dreams
And now I'm soaked.
My boss says "we should never concede to terrorism

And I was so goddam mad
I couldn't think of anything to say.
But Baltimore's got some of the people I most like
Like Mordi, Ira and me, we're the anarkikes
And I love them more than you might ever believe
But autumn's falling fast
And I've got to leave.
I went in Wednesday and I quit my job.
Called my boss a racist, ethnocentric slob.
Stole one last bagel, declared my independence.
I don't think I'm gonna be using him

I biked out to where I knew my friends would be
At the park some fool named after Robert E. Lee.
