From what i see in the lyrics - Mitch is talking about a friend he lost to suicide. The victims life never changed no matter how much he asked God for change.. it was like a photograph because it was exactly the same everyday, (life) in a photograph. Sorry to get all religous on your asses cuz i've seen the shit it brought up in a few other songs =P but its apparent that Mitch is blaming God for his friends loss of hope and will to live.

You guys are exactly write. Mitch wrote the song about his friend from high school. I read about it in a revolver magazine article. I think theres more to the song though. Hes also talking about his problems with God. I think the reason Mitch is Atheist is because of his friend committing suicide because his friend wanted help from God but God didnt help him.

Yeah I can see that but even if so, you can't just hope something is going to just fix your life. You have to do that yourself and the belief of or in god is just really a hope that there is a better tomorrow and that you need to somehow get there yourself, not a force that is going to magically fix you or make you feel better about yourself or something.
I mean I don't know the circumstances of what happened so it could be a complete tragedy that made this guy incapable of helping himself which is understandable in a sense. I'm not religious nor do I believe in god but if believing in something helps people get through their shit then who am I or anyone else to talk shit about it. It's just people who try to shove religion down someones throat like its the answer to everything, some people can't or don't want to blindly believe in something and have to live a certain way.
Also something I find a bit weird is that another song on this album, "No Pity For A Coward" seems to be about how committing suicide is a cowardly act and that it's stupid and not the answer to someones problems....or it could just be about that nobody cares or wants to hear about so hurry up and do it....idk suicide silence seems to like to have a view about something and then flip around on it.
The best reason to be an atheist though obviously is since a belief in a god is so irrational and unbelievable.
