Harmonicas And Tambourines Lyrics

Saturday night the cigarettes come crawling out
With the boys who crave regrets
Bandana hanging around her neck
A checkered flag and a crowd who's singing
"Save us from this life of nine to five"
Four, three, two
One night left for us to feel alive
So why not do it forever?

Harmonicas and tambourines
They're living in her head but dying in her magazines
Her Chelsea clothes and Brooklyn dreams
They're living in her head but dying in her magazines

Say maybe yes, say maybe no
A bit too loud and the lights a bit too low
She never needed a cameo until the chain gang started to sing
"Save us from this life of nine to five"
Four, three, two
Once night left for us to feel alive
So why not do it forever?

Harmonicas and tambourines
They're living in her head but dying in her magazines
Her Chelsea clothes and Brooklyn dreams
They're living in her head but dying in her magazines

Harmonicas and tambourines
They're living in her head but dying in her magazines
Her Chelsea clothes and Brooklyn dreams
They're living in her head but dying in her magazines

Harmonicas and tambourines
They're living in her head but dying in her magazines
Her Chelsea clothes and Brooklyn dreams
They're living in her head but dying in her magazines

i know exactly what you mean.. but for this album, there are only like 3 or 4 really good songs that follow the HHH essence.. dont you think?

and imo this song's about nightlife.. for example, a night at the club, how boys enjoy flirting and then, by mixing girls and booze, then comes regret. but they do it over and over again because they're tired of their daily jobs.. iii dont know haha

you can't really complain about how this different to HHH earlier stuff, bands have to develop & change. otherwise we'd all get broed.

i love this song (:

For some reason this makes me think that when people are dancing to it they should be doing the Charlie Brown Christmas dance.

In short: this song is about sex. The first verse refers to the boys who crave regrets and gives an outlaw image (a.k.a. “bad”) image to a girl with the bandana around her neck. When the crowd sings they go from the number 9 to the number 5 (no this is not totally a reference to work and daily shifts), skipping 6 after 9. This song also talks about one night between a girl and a guy. This whole song’s meaning is summed up by the next line that asks: Why not “do it” (say this to yourself and now see how it sounds) forever?

The chorus: Harmonicas and tambourines seems totally pointless other than that those instruments are used in this song; until you realize how these instruments are played (you blow a harmonica and band a tambourine….hhhmmm now). Also it talks about a fancy girl and how with her Brooklyn dreams: the lead singer might just be too plain for her; and that she thinks about him all the time, but he dies when she moves on into her career.

In the second verse the singer wonders whether the girls will say yes or no (what to the mind can only wonder several possible situations). Along with another sex reference of “ bit too loud and the lights a bit too low”; finalized with the same question of “why not do it forever.
