I didn't really see this as an excuse at all but more a precede to set the atmosphere for the onsalught of 'White Walls'.
...besides, I reckon its the bass that is the highlight in this song!
first off i envy their bass player...the bass line to this song is...well its...i cant even describe. and then to do a PERFECT transition into white walls, there is literally no better way to end a cd than the combo of the two songs, there just isnt
Dan Briggs ftw
This song is the calm before the storm.
it's like a breather before the last intense 14 minutes of this amazing journey
Tommy: Hey guys, we need a song to show off our badassery on this album. Anyone have any ideas? Paul: Don't we have enough songs that show off our badassery? Tommy: SILENCE FOOL! I DEMAND MORE! Dan: Well we have Prequel To The Sequel done and White Walls too, but we need something to fill in the gap. Tommy: Hmm yeah. Instrumental? Dan: Yeah, I'll write a bass solo to prove how awesome I am as well! Blake: What do I get to do? Tommy: You just hit the occasional hi-hat and ride or something, then do a cymbal roll at the end. Makes it seem like you're involved.
But seriously, this song is a kickass one. Good job BTBAM.
"Viridian is a blue-green pigment… we felt it really fit the mood of the song."
It's an excuse for Dan to be a badass.
Yeah, I see it both as an excuse for Dan to show off, and to set the absolute perfect atmosphere for White Walls to come in and give you an eargasm.
why does he even need an excuse? rofl
Correcto.
