Favorite Disease

It's about the different feeling while being a christian, a disease makes people feel different ways, while god and the christian faith can make people feel like a saint or a monster at different times. The last lines reffer to the afterlife how someone is killed by god and goes to heaven when his time comes, and is healed.

Agreed. "I'm on my knees" - reference to being humble before God in prayer. "haven't lost myself in a long time" - reference to John 3:30 - He must increase, I must decrease or being "hidden with Christ" (Col. 3:3).

I agree... but couldn't the kill me, heal me part be more of a parallel to the monster, saint part? It seems to me that "you're killing me" when I feel like a monster, but it keeps me real in that I realize my brokenness and need for a savior. And then the "you're healing me" part referring to the cleansing of my sins...referring to the saint part of the chorus.

I personally think it talks about how, there are certain things in our life that become gods in our life. and when this happens god is replaced with that thing

I personally love this song. Trevor left an explanation for it in the lyric booklet. He said that it's about music, and about how it can sometimes get in the way of his relationship with God, with his wife, and his friends.

So music is the favorite disease, because it can be a deadly distraction, but he can also immerse himself in it.

As a musician, I completely relate to this song in every way. It's so easy to forget that it's all for Jesus and get so caught up in the sound and in your own talent. But we need to remember that music can be used for good or for bad, but when used for good, is a very powerful form of worship.

i think that when it's saying i love the way you kill me it could also be talking about how we have to die to ourselves to be alive in christ.

kill me heal me is also a line in an awesome skillet song, but anyways yes i totally agree, music is how i connect with what we call god, without music i dont htink i would view my beliefs the same, in fact i dont think i could beleive without music. however it does become distraction and can get in the way of the very thing i'm trying to connect with.

I think this song is about how God breaks us before he can make us like HIm. Like, we kind of become a Christian, and go on for a while, then realize that we can't quite get sorted things out on our own, so God has to kill the "Old Man" and then heal us, and make us new

gosh.... kill me as in killing my flesh... killing the monster part of me... heal me.. turn me into a saint... and yeah the rest is about being a christian and how it makes you feel...
