Everyone can interpret things their own way, but to me, this seems more like the internal struggle of not one person, but the American society as a whole.

To me that is talking about how us Americans have become arrogant and ignorant of what can happen to us, that we are not as powerful and invincible as we think.

I'm telling you friend this is something worth fighting for. Does it not seem contradicting to sit back and watch them take more? Caught like a deer in there headlights your stuck now. You're bound by your fears I suggest you break free or you'll forever be damned here

This seems to me like he's talking about how the US government is slowly taking our freedoms away, and that we need open our eyes and break away from our fears of our own government in order to fight for our freedom before it's too late. If we dont do anything we will be caught by suprise and damned to slavery of a higher power.

We are merely degenerates waiting for you to come sweep us off of our feet! They keep marching on spilling blood like savages. Taking lives while your cigarette burns, burns.

This tells me how Americans have become degenerate, ignorant and suspectable to their government whims. We are no longer what Americans were meant to be, and have grown dull minded and complacent as our government continues to do wrong. It says that we are doing nothing to stop our own nation from falling.

This is just saying that we need to gather the courage to speak up, to stop living in fear, and give our lives for our freedom before its too late, before we are damned forever. If we don't stand up now, then the American dream will always be just that, a dream.

This is our fight for freedom this is our way of saying this is our day.

Simply states that we must fight for our freedom, that a revolution or reform of some sort is the only way to restore the ideals of a true America.

We've been waiting for this one day all our lives This is nothing short of predictable. Stop holding your head down Give it up! get a hold of yourself now. Or give it up! You're like a deer in the headlights, You've given up! To save your life.

This shows what will happen if we continue to stand by and do nothing, what will happen if we don't open our eyes soon enough to what our government is doing. How weven though its so obvious, the majority of us will be caught like "deer in the headlights" by the tyranny of our government, but by the time that happens, it will be too late. We have to get a hold of the situation and keep our heads up, we have to stand up or give up to the oppression.

As for the meaning I agree with the war theme. But it could also be seen as an inner battle.

i agree with louis, but even though i don't necessarily believe they intended it as this, i personally take it a step further. the whole foundation of our society is corrupt and a landslide of the american population doesn't even have a clue about it. but in general, it's about our country's ignorance and how we're so naive that we act as a deer in headlights, unable to break free of our need for comfort that we just let them take inch by inch

This may just be me, but I think we might almost have a concept album on our hands. Almost every song has the theme of rebellion, there's the video for faces which has sort of a 1984/Brazil look to it, and there's also the intro to the album. I think the album tells a sort of 1984-ish story. There may easily be influece from what's going on in the politcal world today, but that's just my general take on it.

This song, to me, is enthralling. The whole album is pure genius, cant decide if I like the first better, or not. I'd say that this song seems somewhat like dealing with greivances and problems. Like a person feeling things that make them feel invincible, and they wont have to face the things they fear most. But you need to give it up and get a hold of the fact that you are going to have to do something, or the world as you know it is going to fall apart. Degenerates may be refering to failures who dont try. I agree with most of the stuff people are saying.
