Treasure Train Lyrics
--all aboard--
hang on, hang on, hang on
hang on, hang on, hang on
hang on, hang on, hang on
hang on, hang on
I took steps
in this mission
to take this tumultuous ride
It's all right
i'm the physician
this medicine will keep me alive
I wouldn't feel, I wouldn't look
and i would rarely care
but there's a small window at the end of this train
i hear something out there
I didn't know and I wouldn't try
I didn't have the need
the sound from the windows is becoming much clearer
that wind'ws a mirror
I see myself
I'm not alone
On this train of jewels and gold
passengers passer-by
strange sparkles in their eyes
then black stars start boiling from my mouth
I WANT TO DIE
on my knees i clutch my face
then glow and come alive
There's...
Lightning: in my hair
Thunder: in my ears
I go so far my head explodes
I'm only half way there
Lightning in the sky
the thunder of the train
diving into a bottomless rift
falling like rain
Lightning in the Sky
thunder in my room
there's no flavor to memories
and memories are moment's doom
hang on, hang on, hang on
hang on, hang on, hang on
hang on, hang on, hang on
hang on, hang on
onto the treasure train
valleys of sorrow and peaks of joy
across an empty plain
the treasure
of the treasure train
ON THE TREASURE TRAIN
ON THE TREASURE TRAIN
WE WILL NEVER BE THE SAME
ON THE TREASURE TRAIN
ON THE TREASURE TRAIN
ON THE TREASURE TRAIN
I GO SO FAR MY HEAD EXPLODES
ON THE TREASURE TRAIN
hang on, hang on, hang on
hang on, hang on, hang on
hang on, hang on, hang on
hang on, hang on

wow horse the band the beginning really reminds me of the chili peppers jesus the heavy part close to the beginning gets me so pumped "THERES LIGHTNING IN MY HAIR.... THUNDER IN MY EARS"
Treasure train? Odd, but pretty good.
Actually, treasure train has been described as being life. It's just the ride though life in Nathan's eyes... which could be full of his imaginative craziness as described in the song.
He believes in people living life to their fullest no matter what it is they choose to do so. This is what Octopus on Fire also represents. Making that change that is necessary to do what you want.
well, you mentioned the band "starting to take off" which I think didn't fit the description.
Yeah, I agree with Octopus on Fire on this one. This song is underrated to me, and I love it. One of my faves off of A Natural Death.
Also, the Mp3 of this song is awesome, too.
This was close to one of my favorites on this album. Incredible shit.
HOLY SHIT! this song is just flat fucking amazing to me by far my favorite on A.N.D. i never really knew the lyrics until today and i've been loving this song for over a year (i got it on itunes, so no lyric book D:) so this song was always just a super awesome jam to crank up. lol
and yeah, i agree with Octopus On Fire on this one
by the way: Octopus On Fire is my favorite on the mechanical hand :D
yea octopus on fire has nailed it on this one, even in "i think we are both suffering from the same crushing metaphysical crisis" , nathan makes reference to the train of jewels and gold, which would metaphorically make sense as someones life
You people are idiots. This song is about how the band is really starting to take off and how fame changes everyone. And its about how easy it is to forget where you came from and how important it is to live in the now. "Memories are moment's doom."
Is that not what I said just simplified?

You are offbase on your interpretation of this song. Has nothing to do with the band taking off as you say. The train is merely a metaphor for the journey of life in general, and the window/mirror is a metaphore for dwelling on the past, reflecting on the past. Hence the window that the singer refers to, as he looks at it more closely, he realizes it's a mirror. I.E. as he gazes out onto the flat plain with its peaks of joy and valleys of sorrow, it is his own life that he is looking upon.

...
Throughout the rest of the song, things like "I would rarely care" and the line before it, and the line "memories are moment's doom" seem to suggest that the singer doesn't believe that such reflection on one's own past is all that worth while, considering he also states that the train is of jewels and gold. So, I take it to mean that if the ride you're on is so grand, why care about the past? Now, someone like tim will take what I just said regarding a "ride so grand" and use it as a way to assert that his original theory of the band taking off being the primary subject matter of the song is correct, but I do not agree with such a narrow and specific interpretation of the lyrics, nor do I find anything in the lyrics to suggest that is the correct interpretation.
Also, calling people idiots is retarded.
