Straight Towards The Sun

I know this probably isn't the true meaning of the song but i feel like it's getting to the end of a relationship ("We used to live inside the breeze but now i find it hard to breathe") and he wants to make it better but he's sure it's all just going to end ("But we're heading straight towards the sun") He has no regrets about the relationship though because "Nothing ventured nothing gained".

I reckon it's about a relationship that has reached the end of the road - they are almost unrecognisable from when they first started out, and he wishes he could find a way to make it work still, but the time has come, they must move on. A very beautiful song, and something that goes straight to my heart each time i hear it.

To me this song seems to be more about humanity's relationship with nature, in that we have crosses the line and made changes which are going to effect all of us - in the short term. We've caused too much damage and now we're doomed to remain on this planet until the Sun envelopes us (dead or alive at the point). It seems to show a sense of morbid helplessness and lack of hope for the Human race =/.

That's just my perspective, maybe I'm way out.

I can relate to this perfectly. I think that its like a distance relationship, hence "on your own" and when you are away, is just isnt the same as being with the person. you don't know what to talk about. as much as you want to make it work, you can't and when you're on your own you see that the other person is happy and try everything to fix that but nothing really works. "i can't find what your looking for, nothings left" you start thinking about the relationship and realize how different it is from when you first met that person and you know that as much as you want to be with that person, you know its to an end and don't want it to drag out.
