Claudio said that birds are a metaphor for a certain woman in the story that has wronged a certain male character.

this is just for people who know nothing about coheed and cambria as a graphic novel. please dont flame me. it may not be 100% accurate for all, but its ideas that many share. i would appreciate any feedback/ratings.

Claudio Sanchez has begun writing a graphic novel that has characters like any other story. however, the characters to his story are also in the music. they are what the music is about. its difficult to apply individual songs to our immediate life. its easier to disect the actual story into our own lives. because the characters mentioned here, like Newo and Claudio are fictional.

you cant simply right this off as a "breakup" song. because their world and the problems he faces are so different. they take place in 3 different realms. the cahracters in the "story" the "writing writer" of the story and the physical author Claudio (s).

and there is no "coming home". this is the last 24 hours or so of the world as they know it. everything, including home and both of them will be destroyed, if it hasnt already. this song mayb be a flashback, who knows.

newo supposedly cheated on claudio (k) back in IKSSE3. but who knows if that even happened? the writing writer writes crazy stuff into the life of claudio(k) that may or may not be true - as the writing writer is going through more turmoil than anyone, and his life's problems (lying lies of erica court?) always end up appearing in claudio's (k) life.

furhter than that, we have to assume that claudio sanchez is writing the novel and lyrics for a reason.

the experiences that he faces are so different though (claudio sanchez) for instance, he may very well simply have internal conflict with what to do wiht his professional career, but it translates into lyrics about a "bad breakup" or "the end of the world". newo represents so much good that has occured in his life, whether it be through relationships or through any number of other good things like professional success. characters like Al the Killer represent bad things in his life, that although cause him pain - ends up helping him tremendously (favor house atlantic). learn a bit about the story, think long and hard. because the truth is that this book hasnt even been written yet and everyone here has educated guesses based on interviews. that is it.

claudio sanchez is all about taking things that happen in his life and using the things he learns to make a better future for himself. it is evident in the lyrics, because even the worst cahracters help him overcome something huge.

Lol that's all I have. What he said exactly is that birds are a metaphor for women, not in general but a certain one in his life (guessing in his life because he says certain women have wronged him). Because like a pidgeon who collects dirt in their feathers, they/she collects lies in her 'feathers'.

As much as I could get from the clip, he speaks over mostly the entire second verse, and without that I doubt the end I could hear would make sense.

Beautiful song given the source of it. Great that him and his girlfriend have a house now. Though when he said out in the woods....I imagine the house from the Blood Red Summer video.
