Save Him Lyrics

Yeah, she loves him more, he loves her more.
Seems like they never let each other go.
Laughing and kissing,
It's a match made in heaven.

Behind the rings on their fingers,
Imprints the ink deep in the inner
That have stained their souls together now,
Staying soul mates forever now.

Seems like they've made it to the other side
Where the grass is greener
And the sky is always blue
And it goes on forever and ever
But there is only room for two.

Deep at night, I'm awaken from my dreams.
Next door, yelling, cries, mercy, she is begging please.
"Don't end my life, you're all I need"
And a "Darling, I would never leave - leave."

And then she prayed on her knees,
She said "Save him - Save him from the hand that he beats me on.
Save him - Save him from the hand that he beats me on.
Save him - Save him from the hand that he beats me on.
Save him - Save him from the hand that he beats me on."

Dark clouds cover her paradise,
She covers her eyes and hides
Behind enemy lines.
And she walks through the night
With her child in her arms,
She comes back, hostage.

You see twenty years ago,
When she was just ten years old,
Lost in imagination, she was left alone.
And Pops had nothing to let his anger on.
And he beat her cold, yes he did.
He beat her cold.

She used to pray on her knees,
She said "Save him - Save him from the hand that beats me on.
Save him - Save him from the hand that he beats me on.
Save him - Save him from the hand that he beats me on.
Save him - Save him from the hand that he beats me on."

Deep at night, I'm awaken from my dreams.
Next door, yelling, cries, mercy, she's begging please - begging please - begging please.
"Get up! Get up" He brings her to her feet
And smacks her down
'Till she falls to the ground.

And over and over again,
He brings her to her feet 'till she can no longer stand.
Oh, and still the beating never ends.
On and on and on he goes.
Until he brings out a gun
And says to her "Stop crying and bring me my son."

She cries harder and harder,
He cries harder and harder.
She says "Baby, please don't do this."
Two shots to her chest
And a blow to his own head.
She quickly loses breath and rushes to the bed.

And Baby cries - he cries his eyes out.
"Save him - Save him from the hand that he beats me on.
Save him - Save him from the hand that he beats me on.
Save him - Save him from the hand that he beats me on.
Save him - Save him from the hand that he beats me on."

She loves him more, he loves her more.
Seems like they never let each other go.
Laughing and kissing, it's a match made in heaven.

Okay, well, SonnyDeath is sort of right, but there is so much more to the meaning of this song.

Justin wrote this song about his foster brother's parents. Yes, this is a true story. The father was a nasty drunk, and one night it got way out of control. He shot his wife, than shot himself, with the baby, Justin's foster brother, in the roon. And in the second verse, it talks about how the mother used to get beat by her father; this is also true.

This song is amazing in every way, and the whole album is just as amazing.

I was wondering about this and if this song had a meaning coming from a true story or if it was just fictional. How do you know the story of his foster brother and that this song is coming from that?

@kristen.,! Yep! Also when he says “save him save him from the hand that he beats me” she is saying please don’t let this abuse happen to my son. You can tell by the fact the man requests she gets him. I cry EVERY TIME I hear the song as a dad! SUCK a well written song!

She's definitely saying "Save him" as in the man who's beating her, not save the son. She truly does love him, but of course he's abusing.

Crazy song though, easily an all time favorite.

It's the tragic story of a woman who grew up in abuse even though on the outside, her life seems so pleasant and perfect.

What I wanna question is why the narrator didn't seem to have any remorse when he woke up and heard the whole massacre, but didn't do anything about it. Justin wouldn't be the type to just not think about that.

What I was thinking is that he doesn't do anything because he is a child, and the couple is his parents.

I agree with whoever said that it would take away from the story, because it would, but that would not be the only reason Justin didn't put anything about that in, he is an extremely talented song writer, he would have thought it through, you're right. Possibly if the story is fictional he is just telling it as a narrator and nothing more, and just uses the "neighbour" thing as a way to look in on the story, though he isn't actually the neighbour. I also thought possibly by next door, he could be meaning the next room, like another...

This song is tragic, and beautiful. Justin Nozuka is amazing.

This is a great song! I'm wondering, when she cries "save him", is she asking to save her child? I'm thinking that it's too late for her to be saved, and she realizes that. I don't think she's talking about her lover either. I could be wrong, but it makes sense to me.

When I first heard the song I thought that she was asking god to save her husband from himself, because she still loved him and wanted god to forgive him for what he was doing to her, I never thought about her asking for their son to be saved but that also makes a lot of sense so I'm not sure. The only thing I would question about that is that the first time she is praying you don't know that they have a son. Also it talks about how bound and in love they are, I know this is...

This song was playing on my playlist and the lyrics hit me. Geez, his voice is amazing.

Clearly, the song is about abuse and it's vicious cycle. Such a sad story, and it's horrible that it's happening to people.

My favorite line: "Don't end my life, you're all I need." The emotion he puts in that sentence alone gives me goosebumps.

I believe justin nozuka wrote the chorus line "save him - save him from the hand that he beats me on" to show that the girl feels it is not her man's fault that he is beating her. She is so used to being victimized by him and her father that she is finding excuses to not blame them for what they are doing. She accepts their treatment of her instead.

I think like it says you know no matter how perfect a situation may seem there are always going to be issues. And someone said they didn't know what he meant when the lady was saying "Save Him" well i see it as her saying she knows what he is capable of doing and she knows what damages can come out of what he is doing and also that she kinda knew he would get out of hand and ruin not only her life but the life of his own....just all the happy things we all would see just looking at them

This song is written about Justin's foster brother Christian. The baby's mother is singing: Save him (save the baby) From the hand that he beats me on (baby's father who beats her) First few lines about a match made in heaven and also the last line "It's a match made in heaven" is used as an irony. After such a horrible death, they are both now in heaven, happy.

i think he says "save him", it's talking about her husband, like save him from himself, change him, because even though he does all these things to him, she still loves him, and wants to be with him. i'm not sure though, it really could be either or.

I agree with lelebee, if she is asking the baby to be saved, what was she talking about before the baby was born when her father was beating her? I think she is asking her father and husband to be saved from their sins.

It says that she (the wife; the mother) was beaten as a child, and that she prayed 'save him, save him from that hand that he beats me on', so when she says it now, she's not talking about her child, but instead spouse. also she says 'don't end my life you're all i need and darling i will never leave', to show that THEIR relationship is more important. in a bittersweet kind of ending, he kills them both.
