I think this song is about him trying to find himself, but he needs the one he loves to help him. He is so lost that he can't find his own way out, it hurts him soo much. The pain is so bad, since he is so lost within himself, that he feels now that it is a dream, he wants the pain to go away.
OR
It could be a break up where the girl left him, but he gave her EVERYTHING, thus him being heartless, and souless, because he has no more compassion for anyone because he was hurt so bad.

Yeah, good song indeed. They didn't play the song on the Taste of Chaos Show in Munich, sad, sad! I'd like to hear the whole audience to shout the final 'ohh ohh ohh'-part of the song :-) Maybe next time. I'm not sure, what this song is about, but the middle part ('we walked through...') is great, it gives a good picture of some kind of relationship.
It's about a part of him that is so dark it scares him, and that he has to struggle to fight against it on a daily basis... Well at least that's what he said in an interview with Kerrang! I think it does have something with needing someone to be there to help him too though.
