Never Enough Lyrics

Can't you hear me screaming, once again?
Voices you can't hear
Because you are consumed and in contempt
With everlasting greed

Don't you see me on my hands and knees?
Begging and bleeding
You're smiling as you bite the hand that feeds
But we'll never see

Always watching what your eyes can't see
Feeling what your arms can't reach
Thinking you are in need
Always hearing what your ears can't hear
Feeling what your arms can't touch
Thinking you are incomplete

(Enough) it was never enough that I gave to you
All of the horror that you've put me through
(Never enough) how can I make up my mind this time?
This is where I will draw the line!

Sacrificed my life to be with you
Why did you leave me?
There's nothing more from me you can consume
'cause you are incomplete

Always watching what your eyes can't see
Feeling what your arms can't reach
Thinking you are in need
Always hearing what your ears can't hear
Feeling what your arms can't touch
Thinking you are incomplete

(Enough) it was never enough that I gave to you
All of the horror that you've put me through
(Never enough) how can I make up my mind this time?
This is where I will draw the line!

Everlasting need
Would you please answer me?
And make me complete
Everlasting greed
Would you please set me free?
Fulfill all my needs
And make complete

(Enough) it was never enough that I gave to you
All of the horror that you've put me through
(Never enough) how can I make up my mind this time?
This is where I will draw the line!

Never again will I be with you
No promises are carrying us through
I finally made up my mind this time
This is the end
I've drawn the line!

Never enough to devour your greed!

I always thought that she was talking about a man that left her because he thought he wasn't getting enough, but really she was giving him everything. I don't see how God would think he was in need or really leave someone if he was never there. =/ Then again you never really know...

The lines "Thinking you are in need" are not talking to God, they're talking to themselves.

They're saying, "I'm hearing what my ears can't hear Feeling what my arms can't touch I think I'm in need, thinking I'm incomplete"

But in reality, according to the song, you need to stop thinking you need God to be happy.

I think it's this girl and how fustrafes she by her soon to be ex. She gives him in love but he keeps wanting more. and maybe she doesn't wanna have premairtl sex and he does. I don't think it's about. God never leaves you. By the way, you do do need God Dark Artist.

I absolutely think it's about believing in God. Someone tries to believe and to comply him, but nothing is good enough. And I don't think it's to show that believing in God is useless, but that it's about ORGANIZED RELIGION and how stupid that is.

It's about how people think they need to believe in the supernatural, but they don't.

But it seems to be addressing the church(es) rather than god itself.

i think it's about some people that live life trying to please a god and they don't get an answer so they keep trying just to feel complete until they can't stand anymore.

It about faith not religion. People tend to think they need God to have a purpose in life because without him there's no explanation about why are we here.

I hear a struggle with addiction in these lyrics.

I've always thought of it as being in an abusive relationship of some sort, whether it be a romantic one or friendship, and the abused person feels smothered by their partner's/friend's need for attention and more, and this time it's gone too far. The abused one wants to make things right, but the abuser ignores their begging and focuses on how they feel their greed unsatisfied and how they don't need that person anymore because they were "never enough".

But, yeah... Sort of a lame interpretation, but I only think like this because it's happened to me recently. I agree with Melancholia's post, though.

My Opinion

isn't it "begging and pleading?" not "begging and bleeding?"

I think it is begging and bleeding... I hear a pretty clear "b" but pleading makes sense, probably more...Bleeding is also nice though! ^_^

Protip: Not every song is about drugs. In fact, most songs are NOT about drugs, and the majority of people who claim they are, have never been addicted drugs to know what it is in the first place.

This song is a hyperbole of every human relationship, ever. Boyfriend/Girlfriend, boss/employee, government/citizen, parent/child... any abuse of power, here it is.

@Billco Nice idea, after I read your comment I read the lyrics again and it makes me sense. But it doesn't fit to the album concept
