Stallion Lyrics
Stallion, step away
Saddle up the width of an age
I am good where I am I am good where I am
Stallion
Wrote off “stay gold” from the list I hold, then I
Wrote off “all gold” from the list you hold
I’ll be the grave with no name on the stone
Stallion
Fight for your right to hate the night
Children singing like a choir with no taste for the wine
And the time-minding dawn when the chiding eye
Falls upon you
First fall of light on the counterfeit ring
Likens other things
Some unknown glittering
The balancing of riding and steed can’t be upon you
Stallion, step away
Saddle up the width of an age
I am good where I am I am good where I am
But my God where I am oh my God where I am,
And you,
You had a lot of flexing two muscles on the stage
Now step away, step, step away
Saddle up the width of an age
Rode off, the prospect of gold in my wake
Stallion, step away
The fluttering of wings in the trees can’t be upon you
Saddle up the width of an age
I am good where I am I am good where I am
Stallion
Wrote off “all gold” from the list you hold
I’ll be the grave with no name on the stone
Stallion
Children singing like a choir with no taste for the wine
And the time-minding dawn when the chiding eye
Falls upon you
First fall of light on the counterfeit ring
Likens other things
Some unknown glittering
The balancing of riding and steed can’t be upon you
Saddle up the width of an age
I am good where I am I am good where I am
But my God where I am oh my God where I am,
And you,
You had a lot of flexing two muscles on the stage
Now step away, step, step away
Saddle up the width of an age
Rode off, the prospect of gold in my wake
Stallion, step away
The fluttering of wings in the trees can’t be upon you

guys, i am not sure about a couple of the words above. like i just realized it's "balancing" not "bouncing". so if you see other mistakes, let me know!
i'll be the * grave with no name...
balancing of rider and STEED
The piano intro to this song is amazing. A different side to Sunset Rubdown I find without straying from what they usually do too much.
the ending is just amazing
In the book The Outsiders there is a really famous line that says "stay gold, pony boy"
I see that maybe he was trying to 'stay gold' off his life to-do list to look at it specifically. He already grew up though, so he is now a stallion instead of a pony boy and he doesn't believe in the same ideals as before.
