its a personal song, cornell wrote it for himself years ago. never been released its a live song. very very rare.. till now.

It reminds me of a story of an War Veteran out in the hot desert lying in his bunk cleaning his gun while his women is back home oblivious to the pain he suffers of their separation and the knowing of her infidelity behind his back. So while she's sleeping tucked away safe in bed, he's defending his country and "Cleaning My Gun", and acknowledging the fact that at any minute his life might be taken because of war.......
