This Is The Life Lyrics

Oh the wind whistles down
The cold dark street tonight
And the people they were dancing to the music vibe
And the boys chase the girls with the curls in their hair
While the shy tormented youth sit way over there
And the songs they get louder
Each one better than before

And you're singing the songs
Thinking this is the life
And you wake up in the morning and your head feels twice the size
Where you gonna go? Where you gonna go?
Where you gonna sleep tonight?

And you're singing the songs
Thinking this is the life
And you wake up in the morning and your head feels twice the size
Where you gonna go? Where you gonna go?
Where you gonna sleep tonight?
Where you gonna sleep tonight?

So your heading down the road in your taxi for four
And you're waiting outside Jimmy's front door
But nobody's in and nobody's home 'til four
So you're sitting there with nothing to do
Talking about Robert Riger and his motley crew
And where you're gonna go and where you're gonna sleep tonight

And you're singing the songs
Thinking this is the life
And you wake up in the morning and your head feels twice the size
Where you gonna go? Where you gonna go?
Where you gonna sleep tonight?

[repeat x 5]

Where you gonna sleep tonight?

I think this song is about being young, being free, partying and stuff. I think its particularly about the age from 18 to 30 .. Its kind of an age where many people are independent, free, still young but on the other hand you have to think about your future as well.. at least that is the perspective of my life-situation. It`s a great song and nice video :)

I think it's about life on the road as a performer, doing gigs every night and feeling great, but also being uncertain about where you're going, and getting distant from friends and other loved ones.

I always thought this song was about that one person we all know who's partying constantly, is great fun to be around and has plenty of interesting tales to tell but has never gotten their actual life sorted out. So the song is talking about them having a laugh getting drunk with friends but then having the realisation hit them that they have no home, job or even an idea about where their future's going.

This song is in my eyes about having no purpose in life except for living. Not thinking about tomorrow is a freedom that can feel empty but is not when you decide to fill tomorrow with someone useful.

i think its kinda explaining the "party" life and how you don't really know what you're going to be doing later on that night and you're gonna wake up with a hangover

this song seems to be about my brother. he goes out partying almost every weekend and stays at a different friends house everynight. and when he comes back he's always knackered.

I think the song is written by a struggling musician who is on the road playing gigs, getting better and loving it even more every day, but with that comes not knowing where your gonna be or where your gonna stay.
