Will you tell me when the lights are fading
Cos I can't see, I can't see no more
Will you tell me when the song stops playing
Cos I can't hear, I can't hear no more

She said I don't know what you're living for
She said I don't know what you're living for at all
He said I don't know what you're living for
He said I don't know what you're living for at all

But I will run until my feet no longer run no more
And I will kiss until my lips no longer feel no more
And I will love until my heart it aches
And I will love until my heart it breaks
And I will love until there's nothing more to live for

Will you tell me when the fighting's over
Cos I can't take, I can't take no more
Will you tell me when the day is done
Cos I can't run, I can't run no more

She said I don't know what you did it for
She said I don't know what you did it for at all
He said I don't know what you did it for
He said I don't know what you did it for at all

But I will run until my feet no longer run no more
And I will kiss until my lips no longer feel no more
And I will love until my heart it aches
And I will love until my heart it breaks
And I will love until there's nothing more to live for

And I will love until my heart it aches
And I will love until my heart it breaks
And I will love until there's nothing more to live for

goose bumps! such an emotional song :] the lyrics are quite simple, but i think the meaning behind the song is very deep... it's about how people keep saying that... life sucks... and then you die... so why bother anyway? it's not worth the pain. they dont see what they're doing it all for... but then she's like: i dont care, i will live my life and never stop loving, no matter how much it hurts... "And I will love until my heart it breaks" -> she knows love can be painful, and that it can break her heart, but that wont stop her. "And I will love until there's nothing more to live for"...

This song is so beautiful... For me, it's about keeping going when everyone around you gives up. It hits home with me, because so many people I know act terminally depressed.

    My Interpretation

I think the song is basically saying that nothing's worth doing, if you don't put your heart and soul into it, especially love.

Although it might not work out and there might be a lot of heartbreak, she's going to completely give herself to him and love him with all her heart or else what's the point.

Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.
