School Is Out Lyrics
School is out
And I walk the empty hallways
I walk alone
Alone as always
There’s so many lucky pennies
Lying on the floor
But where the hell are all the lucky people
I can’t see them any more
And there’s such a nasty smell
In the bathroom
The people float by
While the toilets are flushing
And there’s all this shit written on the bathroom wall
With a leaky pen
And Lisa loves Jason
Oh, Jason loves Ben
And a letter from Michigan
Is sittin’ on my desk
And I remember one (thought?)
But I forget all the rest
And the ice cream is melted
And dripping down my neck
And my bottles standing on the edge of the table
And I think it’s in the mood to brea-a-a-a-k
Me, just brea-a-a-a-k
Me, just, just break me
And I messed myself up again
Nobody really cares
I wish I could just have some time
To play with my old teddy bear
And maybe I could go
To teddy bear heaven
Just like her
‘Cause well, she went when she was eleven
But I stayed late
‘Cause I can’t understand physics
I don’t want to go home
And cook myself dinner
Or look in the mirror
That big, fat mirror
That swallows me up in a corridor
Oh, just swallows me whole
And ga-gangles a robber
And ga-gangles the gun
And ga-gangles the bittersweet
Judgmental nun
Ga-ganles the gun
And ga-gangles the purse
And ga-gangles the over-fucked
Registered nu-u-u-urse
Me, just nu-u-u-urse
Me, just, just nurse me
School is out
And I walk the empty hallways
I walk alone
Alone as always
There’s so many lucky pennies
Lying on the floor
But where the hell are all the lucky people
Where the hell are all the lucky people
I can’t see them
A-a-any more

where can i find this song? sounds interesting, but i've never heard of it.
i don't know...but i enjoy reading it sometimes
you can go on youtube and search for it... it's there, was just released recently
I LOVE this song. Such a gem. Love how she sings "eleven"
I love how she pronounces some words when she sings! Like "orange juice" in the song Belt. She says "orange" with that east coast accent so it sounds like "ahrange", makes me smile every time.

I love this song so much. But after seeing this, I keep thinking "ga-gangles" instead of the correct "ja-jangles" when I hear it.

This song sounds as if it's describing a time post-high school graduation or being back in am elementary school where you don't belong but once did. But I think analyzing this song demeans it; it's a lovely piece and shouldn't be prodded at.
This song has such a happy-but-sad at the same time melody. I think its just about someone looking at life from the other side, (when school is out, or when the party is over) You just start to think about all those things you would've otherwise never really thought about (writings on the bathroom wall; Lisa loves Jason, Jason loves Ben) Ha I don;t even think I'm making sense here, but there's also a longing feeling of going back to childhood (teddy bear heaven), with less complicated-ness and trials and tribulations. I dunno, but this son's just amazing.
longing to return to the sometimes scary, but safe times of school. Missing the teddy bear you threw away and sent to "teddy bear heaven" when you were eleven. beautiful...
