Wow, this song is amazing. I believe that it is about becoming a hero. Someone who is a champion. Everytime I see a fire truck I think of peace. I think about this golfer from my high school, actually... I think I saw him recently when I was driving around... I read the back of his car and it startled me a little bit, I was following a little too closely and ran a stop sign... Probably a bad idea. It made me want to stand up for myself and my beliefes... I am still trying to figure it all out, but eventually I'll get things right. In the end I know that I will come out on top. If I ever publish a book I'm going to donate all the proceeds to charity.

This is Alter Bridge's way of saying that we(The US) need to get out of the Middle East and let them solve their problems themselves.

I don't think the song is about Iraq. I think you are just interpreting it into a way that will fit your views, which I guess most people do about most things. If it was about Iraq I think Alter Bridge would have more political songs that just this. I think it's just about making the world a better place. The band is challenging us to fix the wrongs of the world whenever we see injustice happening. The beginning of the song sounds like they're trying to say that society has turned a blind eye to everything bad that's happening and they think people should see what's really going on and fix it. You can probably take this to mean "stop the war in Iraq" if you believe the war is wrong. "Rise today and change this world." I think it's bigger than the U.S. and Iraq. It's about the world. Maybe you are forgetting that we are not the world.

If it's rise today and change this world, then why would we get out of the Middle East? Then we wouldn't be changing anything. Again, I don't think it's about politics. It's just a general "let's fix the bad things" kind of song. It's still good though.

with all the shit is happening in the world. the song inspires us to take a step back and to see what lies ahead of the situation and not the situation itself. we all need to ponder and think despite all the negativity around us, it's better to resort is a peaceful manner instead of chaos and violence.

whoever wrote these lyrics needs to check over them again. because "deathadder" was right.
