i hope that emery doesn't sell out on this new album of theirs :/

doesnt sound like they will sounds like emery but better......a new and improved emery if you will. and in my opinion selling out is where it's at man!

song seems pretty clearly about a girl that has been hurt since the passing of her father and has turned to drugs and alcohol to "cope" and the narrator of the song is trying to be a friend and help her stop this

doesn't even have to be a girl it could be about multi people, but yeah sounds like the main point is him/her trying to avoid their problems but then again theirs danger in what they do

ya, it's definitely about a girl cause it says "a little girl in a shrinking world" and ya, it's totally about her trying to deal with her father having died and turning to drugs and alcohol, meanwhile the narrarator is telling her to stop cause "This will end bad if you don't get this right" and "cause you could die tonight." So ya, it's pretty NOT-vague, which I think is weird for Emery, and their sound is more unoriginal I think, but you can still tell it's them and their sick-nasty skills. :)

to me this song is about a girl running from her problems in drugs and alchohol but i feel it goes a bit deeper than that. Emery being a christian band. the line "leave with me cause you could die tonight" could have a double meaning. not only could she literally drink herself to death, the more she shrinks and hides in the alchohol the further she slips from God and therefore is spiritually dying as well. as for the sound of this song, it does sound like a different direction for emery because in many of their songs they never had an actual chorus line, however this song goes by the usual song setup of verse, chorus verse, chorus, bridge, reprise, and then chorus again. so in that way yes...it is slightly unoriginal, but at the same time, their sound is in no way unoriginal, they still have the multivocal melodic screamo sound they had back in The Weak's End. the only difference is that it's a bit more refined.

Of the three new Emery songs i've heard, this one is my favorite by a long shot, but it also sounds the most like their previous albums. Anyways, great song, great message.

It's "What a waste," not "of the waste." Also, it's "I know you like THE party," not "a party," and the line "You'd be the same if you could see" is actually "you'd be the same if you were me."

I got this from the actual emery album packaging so I know those are the correct lyrics.

I'd also like to mention that this seems to be one of those cases where the CD booklet with the lyrics says one thing, while the band sings something else entirely. Such is the case with the line I quoted above that says "you'd be the same if you were me," which is what the CD booklet says but in the song he definitely sings, "you'd be the same if you could see." Just thought I'd point that out.

just wondering...how do you have the cd booklet when the cd itself has not even dropped yet...just an observation
