actually, after listening to the entire song, i see what you mean. i'm pretty sure it's ryan in the beginning. but towards the end, it's probably sal or something. i believe he sings on their tracks every now and then.

i definetly think this song is about herion, and i agree with lissyish703 that its about a relationship but not that a guys is trying to win a girl back but that two people that were truly in love were broken up by a heroin addiction and now the girl has moved on and married someone else, and she realizes that the child she has should have been her first loves child

the whole begining seems to be a realization that humans are not always stronger than the things we put into our bodies ... drugs for example

this is again talking about her disease,he asks her questions like how are you grandma or do you remember who i am, and she doesnt.And the part about her not being afriad to die is probably him talking for her,he knows his grandmother very well and knows how she must feel about this situation.

this part may be either his granmother talking or maybe him,he/her doesnt want everyone to see how bad this sickness is getting so she'd rather ask for morphine and fall asleep with the picture of brian inbetween her fingers.that part is so cute, it protects her in her dreams.

Absolutley beautiful song. & "Lucy Gray" is right; I saw EOTC live and it was ryan, sal, and then brian.

Well, i have another opinion about this song's meaning. But i may be completely wrong. For me, the whole song is brian's grandmother's last actions. In the first verse, she says her last words to her husband, she remembers when they find out her disease and that even if she is going to forget everything, she will keep his picture.
