No Son of Mine Lyrics
We've drained full confession booths;
Polluted drinking wells with our
repentances and then stood,
grinning with our arms around the shoulders of a rotting child.
Hold that pose.
Provisional, arrogant little pigs who devour their siblings
Shoot that dog if we can't afford to feed
Shoot that dog if we can't afford to feed
Famine fathered a moth
Famine fathered a moth
that begot our fathers
Keep your voices down, I'm sneaking out
Hey! What's the big idea?
Keep your fucking hands off the insight
That rat has got it's mothers eyes
That rat has got it's mothers eyes
breeding ad nauseam, they are throwing themselves into the sea.
Stop. Theif.
Stop. Theif.
Stop. Theif.
Stop. Theif.
Stop. Theif.
Stop. Theif.
Stop. Theif.
Leave your drunken accident at the prom
It'll grow to mend your broken heart.
Don't sign the dotted line
(Every house is a little bit of hollywood)
The world is too incredible
to bring such ugliness into it
The artist is sneaking down the hall
to impregnate the last of it's kin.
Indescernible muse in a swarm of derivatives
And i deny any part
I deny any part of a
deadbeat godfather
Deadbeat godfather.
Deadbeat godfather.
Bite your tounge.
Who taught you those words?
Blaspheme!
When you are under my roof.
Don't ever say rock n' roll
Don't ever say rock n' roll.
Polluted drinking wells with our
repentances and then stood,
grinning with our arms around the shoulders of a rotting child.

OK, so in the aforementioned context.. The first part refers to bands helping promote other bands to the public when they don't actually like them, just for the sake of building the "scene." Of course Keith won't stand for that.
"Keep your voices down, I'm sneaking out Hey! What's the big idea? Keep your fucking hands off the insight"
This is Keith getting away from those generic bands, and warning that if you can't be original and creative, music is not for you.
"That rat has got it's mothers eyes breeding ad nauseam, they are throwing themselves into the sea."
Casts the blame for the state of music scenes on the bands that came before the and helped them come up. Says bands just jump into music blindly, and then are buried in a sea of soundalikes.
"Stop. Thief."
Accusing bands of stealing sounds.
"Leave your drunken accident at the prom It'll grow to mend your broken heart. Don't sign the dotted line (Every house is a little bit of hollywood) The world is too incredible to bring such ugliness into it The artist is sneaking down the hall to impregnate the last of it's kin. Indescernible muse in a swarm of derivatives"
This part is important. To paraphrase, 'we don't want to hear your juvenile lyrics. Don't sign a record deal, just quit music. The world is too good for your crappy songs. You'll just perpetuate the problem. How can we tell what inspires your music when it's all so derivative?'
That's my take, based on what Microman said
kieth says " Bite your tounge who tought you those words BLASFEMEE when you are under my roof don't ever say rock n' roll and i think this song is about there struggle to make it and there parents approval and just growing to handle it
love the heavy intro....
It's definitely blaspheme
umm if you mean the spelling.. its blasphemy
it's BLASPHEME. not blasphemy. not blasfemee. Blaspheme- It's a word. And that's what he says, like halko said.
my apologies-i commented before i listened to the song, and i figured that was just a spelling mistake.
Failed the father in law yeah we've got our fathers
Keep your voices down, we're sneaking out.
We're at the end of the world They're pouring themselves into the sea.
Stop, theif!
Don't sign the dotted line. Every house has a little bit of Hollywood.
The artist is sneaking down the hole.
I think.
WE’VE DRAINED FULL CONFESSION BOOTHS; POLLUTED DRINKING WELLS WITH OUR REPENTANCES AND THEN STOOD, GRINNING WITH OUR ARM AROUND SHOULDERS OF A ROTTING CHILD. HOLD THAT POSE. PROVISIONAL, ARROGANT LITTLE PIGS WHO DEVOUR THEIR SIBLINGS.
SHOOT THAT DOG IF WE CAN’T AFFORD TO FEED. SHOOT THAT DOG IF WE CAN’T AFFORD TO FEED.
FAMINE FATHERED A MOTH. FAMINE FATHERED A MOTH THAT BEGOT OUR FATHERS.
KEEP YOUR VOICES DOWN I’M SNEAKING OUT. HEY! WHAT’S THE BIG IDEA? KEEP YOUR FUCKING HANDS OFF THE INSIGHT THAT RAT HAS GOT ITS MOTHERS EYES. THAT RAT HAS GOT ITS MOTHERS EYES BREEDING AD NAUSEAM, THEY ARE OURING THEMSELVES INTO THE SEA.
STOP. THEIF. STOP. THEIF. STOP. THEIF. STOP. THEIF STOP. THEIF STOP. THEIF STOP. THEIF
LEAVE YOUR DRUNKEN ACCIDENT AT THE PROM. IT’LL GROW TO MEND YOUR BROKEN HEART. DON’T SIGN THE DOTTED LINE (EVERY HOUSE IS A LITTLE BIT OF HOLLYWOOD). THE WORLD IS TOO INCREDIBLE TO BRING SUCH UGLINESS INTO IT. THE ARTIST IS SNEAKING DOWN THE HALL TO IMPREGNATE THE LAST OF ITS KIN. INDESCERNIBLE MUTE IN A SWARM OF DERIVATIVES. AND I DENY ANY PART. I DENY ANY PART OF A DEADBEAT GODFATHER. DEADBEAT GODFATHER. DEADBEAT GODFATHER. BITE YOUR TONGUE. WHO TAUGHT YOU THOSE WORDS? BLASPHEME! WHEN YOU ARE UNDER MY ROOF DON’T EVER SAY “ROCK AND ROLL” DON’T EVER SAY “ROCK AND ROLL”
This song is about "cookie cutter" bands that have show up on the scene lately and is Keiths way of saying that he dosent want those kind of bands to be his so called "son" or offspings to the scene
I think this is pretty right considering i heard Keith himslef say it on Stevens Untiled Rock Show
