Feel Alive Lyrics

You`ve killed my days – my innermost
State of mind so don`t stay close
I am back through all the highs and lows

No more belief – in chemicals
So pack your things – you`d better go
There`ll be no regrets – little do you know

I feel – I feel so alive
Meet me at the station, or maybe in another life
I feel – I feel so alive
There`ll be no more drifting back and forth in time

Another day – another life
To feed with all that I call mine
Is what it takes – so I go out tonite

Shining lights of crossing cars
An open sky – a million stars
They open up my eyes and this is just because

I feel – I feel so alive
Meet me at the station, or maybe in another life
I feel – I feel so alive
There`ll be no more drifting back and forth in time

I`ll take it slow – I feel so alive
I`ll turn back time

I feel – I feel so alive
Meet me at the station, or maybe in another life
I feel – I feel so alive
There`ll be no more drifting back and forth in time

I'm bothered how "Therell be no more drifting back and forth in time" but later on he says "Ill turn back time".

Any idea how to reconcile these two lines?

Oryly - Im guessing that what he means by those 2 lines is maybe something to do with this line "No more belief – in chemicals" meaning he wont go back and forth in messing with drugs or what ever.. then the line that says "I`ll turn back time" is meaning he will turn back time to before all that was an issue..

Really love the song, it brings hope and joy with his clear sound and lyrics! I think Squishy's right! The guy in the song is talking about a past filled up with drugs and other sh*t and it killed his existence, his sensation of being conscious of his world, conscious of his own life.

One can notice he's talking to the drugs ("so pack your things, you'd better go"). In my opinion, this personification shows a strong relation with the chemic. But he decided to interrupt it, because it kills his "days, [his] innermost".

He stops the "belief in chemicals" and starts enjoying the "real" life, with its "open sky" and "million stars". "They open up my eyes and this is just because I feel I feel so alive" means that the world was always beautiful, but he can't see it until he opens his mind, and free itself from the drugs.

"Meet me at the station or maybe in another life": the drugs will always exist, but not in his life anymore. The "station" is a metaphor of a new start, I thihnk. "I`ll turn back time" shows his determination to start again from scratch ("no regrets")

"I feel, I feel so alive": very strong sentence to me. The drugs became a prison and stopping takin them is like a wonderful liberation.

Anyway, this song is beautiful! Above the story of the man, I can feel alive too, the songs fills me up with positive energy! =D (I'm sorry if there are mistakes, I speaks French in fact)
