I'm from coventry, where this band is from and after seeing them at Godiva Fest 2007 i know why this song was written.
It was written purely to get several thousand people shouting "Banging on the back seat" at full volume. probably with the aim of seriously annoying all the residents that complain at the noise of the festival.

i thought 'Bangin' On The Back Seat' meant they were doing it in a car lol as the songs talks about 'good'/'bad' girls n boys
