Away From Here Lyrics
Of working just to be retired
I don't want to get that far
I don't want your company car
Promotions aint my thing
Name badges are not interesting
It's much easier for me see
To stay at home with Richard and Judy
Wake up calls are getting boring round here
Feet dragging on the pavement
The same people with the same arrangement
Irony can be quite funny
You making other people money
My working day has just begun
its not exactly what i would call fun
With daytime TV and my favourite tune
Cos it is much easier for me see
To stay at home with Richard and Judy
When you go out and live the highlife
meeting up with other people
your interaction with the weak and feable
Atleast when all is said and done
You wouldn't be the only one
To be a slave to the modern wage
Your crappy weekend is your only escape
With daytime TV and my favourite tune
Cos it is much easier for me
To stay at home with Richard and Judy
Away away away away from here

brill song, absolutely fantastic...love the message- I don't think that I really need to talk about what it's about really? I mean, it's pretty obvious...

lazy arse, if he doesn't like all this silly modern system he should go and live off the land in the hills.

Great track. Sums up how I feel. Althought I'd rather stay home and watch the Jeremy Kyle show...lol.

Great tune, pretty obvious meaning, and a damn catchy chorus. Bought their album last week and its packed with fantastic tunes that will have you singing along but also agreeing with his cynicism of the modern world.
Song itself paints a rather bleak view of modern Britain - despite how shite it can be, you have to work to survive. Funny that these guys are only 18/19, doubt they'll have been working for long!

What a tune, gonna get that album tomorrow some fantastic songs on it. Love the way he says ''Richard and Juuudy''.

Great song, I think they remind me a lot of Maximo Park.

So Great. I can totally relate! I live in blackpool, it sucks Its pretty obvious what this song is about (read the title) Lol x

Being a fellow covlad , the boys reflex all from the Cov so acurratly !! Inner city dwellers everwhere can relate to it . If you check out the cd case inprint and the graphics on the sleeves it covered in there pride for their hometown!! go boys..... full of energy and attitude even when they are at all coventry city matches. good work fellas

i normally hate this kind of music but this song's great. i love the way he says "richard and judy"

I agree with you CALLEY_roadtojoy. It sounds so very pronounced and strong. I also like the whole "awayaway..."-thing, it really reminds me of the soundtrack to one of my favourite movies as a kid. Oh the memories. ;P
I feel like I'm getting on a bit, but when I heard this tune it reminded me of when I was younger and stuck in a dead-end job I hated at a time when you were considered lucky to have a job. By the time I got out of it 6 years had passed, but my partner always said I became a much happier person once I did. Back then I always had dreams of what I really wanted to do, but thought I wasn't good enough, now I wish I had tried earlier as I've been relatively successful with...

Now, it's a case of pushing on to the next level that I find hard. Songs like this remind me of my ambitions then and that I can't let myself down by sitting back and saying it's ok because I'm content with what I have because other people still feel the same way. I sort of owe it to them too.
